Asking prayers for the removal of a harmful person
We join you in lifting this burden before the Lord, trusting that He hears and acts according to His perfect will. It is clear you are seeking deliverance from a harmful influence, and we stand with you in prayer, knowing that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). The Scriptures remind us to cast all our anxieties on Him because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7), and we are confident that He will guard and guide you through this season.
The Bible also teaches us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44), not because their actions are justified, but because our hearts must remain aligned with Christ’s love and forgiveness. However, this does not mean we must endure ongoing harm or toxic relationships. Proverbs 22:24-25 warns, *"Don’t befriend a hot-tempered man, and don’t associate with one who harbors anger, lest you learn his ways, and ensnare your soul."* If this person is causing spiritual, emotional, or physical harm, it is wise and biblical to seek separation, trusting God to either change their heart or remove their influence from your life.
We also encourage you to examine your own heart in this situation. Are there any areas where unforgiveness, bitterness, or fear may be taking root? Ephesians 4:31-32 urges us to *"let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."* Even as you seek removal from this person’s harmful presence, guard your heart against resentment, for the Lord calls us to walk in freedom and peace.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is seeking Your divine intervention. Lord, You see the hearts of all people, and You know the harm that has been caused by this individual. We ask that You, in Your sovereignty, remove this person from their life and circles if it is not Your will for them to remain. Break every ungodly soul tie, every scheme of the enemy, and every influence that seeks to bring confusion, pain, or destruction. Surround our brother/sister with Your angels, Lord, and place a hedge of protection around them.
If there is any area where our brother/sister needs to forgive or release this person, we ask for Your grace to help them do so, that they may not be bound by bitterness or unforgiveness. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and lead them into godly relationships that honor You. If this person is open to repentance, Lord, we pray You would convict their heart and turn them toward You. But if they remain hardened, we ask that You would sever this connection for the sake of Your child’s well-being and spiritual growth.
We declare that no weapon formed against our brother/sister shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we trust that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28). Strengthen them, Lord, and remind them that their identity and security are found in You alone. In the powerful name of Jesus, we pray, Amen.
Stand firm in your faith, knowing that the Lord is fighting for you. Seek His face daily through prayer and Scripture, and surround yourself with believers who can support and encourage you. If this person has been a stumbling block in your walk with Christ, take heart—God is faithful to deliver you and restore what has been broken. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). We are praying for you!
