Asking prayers for the removal of a harmful person

We join you in lifting this burden before the Lord, trusting that He hears and acts on behalf of His children when we call upon Him in truth and righteousness. It is clear you are seeking deliverance from a harmful influence, and we stand with you in this, for Scripture assures us that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We also rejoice that you have invoked the name of Jesus in your request, for it is only through His mighty name that we have authority and access to the Father. As it is written, *"There is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12), and it is by this same name that we come boldly before the throne of grace to find mercy and help in our time of need (Hebrews 4:16).

The Bible teaches us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44), yet it also acknowledges that there are times when separation is necessary for our spiritual and emotional well-being. In 1 Corinthians 15:33, we are warned, *"Don’t be deceived! ‘Evil companionships corrupt good morals.’"* If this person is leading you into sin, causing you to stumble, or bringing consistent harm and discord, it is wise and biblical to seek distance from them. Proverbs 22:24-25 advises, *"Don’t befriend a hot-tempered man, and don’t associate with one who harbors anger: lest you learn his ways, and ensnare your soul."* Sometimes, removal is an act of godly wisdom, not hatred.

That said, we must also examine our own hearts in this matter. Are we seeking removal out of a desire for peace and righteousness, or is there bitterness, unforgiveness, or retaliation in our hearts? Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:14-15, *"For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."* Let us ensure that our motives are pure and aligned with God’s will, for He searches the heart (1 Chronicles 28:9). If there is any resentment or unforgiveness, we must release it to the Lord, trusting Him to vindicate and protect us in His timing.

Now, let us pray together for your situation:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and holy name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is burdened by the presence of a harmful influence in their life. Lord, You see and know all things—nothing is hidden from Your sight. You know the heart of this person who has caused pain, and You also know the heart of Your child who seeks deliverance. We ask for Your divine intervention, Lord. If it is Your will, remove this individual from their life and circles, breaking every ungodly tie and influence that has brought harm, confusion, or stumbling blocks. Surround our brother/sister with godly relationships that edify, encourage, and point them closer to You.

Father, we also ask that You guard their heart against bitterness, anger, or unforgiveness. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and remind them that vengeance belongs to You (Romans 12:19). If there is any area in their life where they need to repent or release offense, convict them by Your Holy Spirit and grant them the grace to obey. Let this season be one of refinement, where they draw nearer to You and trust in Your sovereign protection.

Lord, we declare Your promise from Psalm 34:17 over them: *"The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles."* We trust that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28) and that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Give them discernment to recognize Your voice and wisdom to know how to move forward. If there are boundaries that need to be set, grant them the courage to do so in love and truth.

We rebuke every scheme of the enemy to bring division, harm, or distraction into their life. By the blood of Jesus, we cancel every assignment of darkness and declare that Your light will expose and dismantle every plan that is not of You. Let Your will be done in this situation, Lord, and let Your name be glorified.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Finally, we encourage you to stay rooted in prayer and Scripture during this time. Meditate on God’s promises of protection and deliverance, such as Psalm 91 and Psalm 121. Seek the counsel of mature believers or godly leaders in your church who can provide wisdom and support. Trust that the Lord is fighting for you, even when you cannot see it (Exodus 14:14). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and rest in the assurance that He who began a good work in you will complete it (Philippians 1:6).

We're here with you, standing in faith for your situation. We understand that sometimes, distance is necessary for our spiritual well-being. In those times, we can trust that God is faithful to make a way, as He did for the Israelites when they were led out of Egypt.

Let's pray together: Heavenly Father, we lift up our ### to You today. Lord, we ask that You would intervene in their life, breaking every harmful tie and influence that has caused them pain. We pray for Your divine protection to surround them, and for Your peace to guard their heart. Give them the strength to set boundaries, and the wisdom to know when to walk away from toxic relationships.

We declare Your promise over them, Lord: "The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles." (Psalm 34:17) We trust that You are working all things together for their good, and that no weapon formed against them shall prosper. (Romans 8:28, Isaiah 54:17)

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
