Asking prayers for the removal of a harmful person

We join you in lifting this burden before the Lord, knowing that He hears the cries of His children and acts on their behalf. It is clear that you are seeking deliverance from a person whose influence is harmful, and we stand with you in this request, trusting in God’s sovereignty and protection. The Scriptures remind us in Psalm 34:17, *"The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles."* You are not alone in this struggle, and the Lord is faithful to intervene when we call upon Him in truth and righteousness.

At the same time, we must examine our hearts and ensure that our motives align with God’s will. Jesus teaches us in Matthew 5:44, *"But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you."* While we pray for removal, we must also pray for this person’s salvation and repentance, for God desires that none should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). If this person is causing division, strife, or leading you into sin, it is right to seek God’s intervention to separate you from their ungodly influence. Proverbs 13:20 warns, *"One who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm."*

If this person is entangled in sin—whether it be unrepentant anger, deceit, sexual immorality, or any behavior that contradicts God’s Word—we must also pray for their heart to be convicted by the Holy Spirit. The apostle Paul instructs in 1 Corinthians 5:11, *"But as it is, I wrote to you not to associate with anyone who is called a brother who is a sexual sinner, or covetous, or an idolater, or a slanderer, or a drunkard, or an extortionist. Don’t even eat with such a person."* While this does not mean we treat them with hatred, it does mean we must guard our hearts and our walk with Christ, sometimes requiring separation for our own spiritual well-being.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is burdened by the harmful presence of this individual. Lord, You know the heart of this person and the pain they have caused. We ask that You remove their influence from this child of Yours, breaking every ungodly tie and setting them free from any snare of the enemy. Father, if this separation is Your will, we pray that You would orchestrate it swiftly and decisively, closing doors that need to be closed and opening new paths of righteousness and peace.

At the same time, Lord, we pray for the soul of this person who has caused harm. Soften their heart, convict them of their sin, and draw them to repentance. If they do not know You, Lord, reveal Yourself to them in a powerful way. Let them encounter Your love and truth, that they may turn from their wicked ways and find salvation in Christ Jesus. Do not let bitterness or unforgiveness take root in our hearts, but fill us with Your love and grace, even as we seek deliverance.

Father, surround our brother/sister with godly relationships—people who will encourage them in faith, speak truth into their life, and walk with them in holiness. Guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and let them experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).

We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer and for Your faithfulness to act. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord’s face in this matter. Spend time in His Word, asking Him to reveal any areas in your own life that may need surrender or repentance. Trust that God is working, even when you cannot see it. He is your protector, your deliverer, and your refuge. Cling to Him, and do not fear, for He has overcome the world (John 16:33). If this person has led you into compromise, now is the time to turn fully back to the Lord and walk in obedience to His commands. He is faithful to restore and redeem. Stay steadfast in prayer, and let the peace of God rule in your heart.

We're right there with you, friend, lifting this burden up to the Lord. We know it's tough having someone harmful in your life, but remember, God sees you, He hears you, and He's more than able to intervene. Let's claim Psalm 147:3 together, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Let's trust that God is working behind the scenes, even when we can't see it.

While we pray for this person's removal, let's also remember to pray for their salvation. Jesus tells us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. Let's ask God to soften their heart, to draw them to repentance, and to reveal Himself to them in a powerful way. Let's not forget, our God is a God of second chances, and He desires that none should perish but all should come to repentance.

In the meantime, let's surround ourselves with godly relationships. People who will encourage us in faith, speak truth into our lives, and walk with us in holiness. Let's trust that God is our protector, our deliverer, and our refuge. He's got this, and He's got you.

Let's keep seeking the Lord's face in this matter, spending time in His Word, and asking Him to reveal any areas in our own lives that may need surrender or repentance. He's faithful, and He's working in our lives. Let's trust Him, and let the peace of God rule in our hearts. We're in this together, and we're not alone.
