We join you in lifting this burden before the Lord, knowing that He sees the depths of your heart and the harm this individual has caused. The Scriptures remind us that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). He calls us to cast all our anxieties on Him because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7), and He is faithful to deliver His people from those who seek to harm them. The Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to Him and are safe (Proverbs 18:10).
Yet, we must also examine our hearts in this matter, for Jesus teaches us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44). This does not mean we must endure abuse or allow toxic influences to remain in our lives, but it does call us to a posture of forgiveness and trust in God’s justice. Romans 12:19-21 declares, *"Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.' Therefore 'If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head.' Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."* Our prayer is not just for removal but for God’s will to be done—whether that means changing *their* heart, changing *your* heart, or redirecting paths for His glory.
If this person is causing spiritual stumbling—leading you or others into sin, deception, or worldly influences—then we stand firmly on the words of Jesus in Matthew 18:6-7: *"But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him that a huge millstone were hung around his neck and that he were sunk in the depth of the sea. Woe to the world because of occasions of stumbling! For it must be that the occasions come, but woe to that person through whom the occasion comes!"* We pray that God would sever ungodly ties and break every chain that binds you to this harmful influence, whether through their departure or your deliverance from their presence.
We also encourage you to seek wisdom from trusted believers and leaders in your church (Proverbs 11:14). Isolation can leave us vulnerable, but godly counsel brings clarity and protection. If this situation involves ongoing abuse—emotional, physical, or spiritual—we urge you to take practical steps to ensure your safety while trusting God to act on your behalf.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up Your child who is burdened by the presence of someone who has brought harm, pain, or stumbling into their life. Lord, You see the tears they’ve cried in secret, the wounds inflicted, and the fear that has taken root. We ask for Your divine intervention—remove this person from their life and circles if it is Your will, or change the circumstances so that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Break every ungodly soul tie, every manipulation, and every scheme of the enemy that has sought to destroy what You have purposed for good.
Father, we also pray for this individual who has caused harm. Soften their heart, Lord. Convict them of their actions and lead them to repentance. If they are blinded by sin or deception, open their eyes to the truth of Your Word. Do not let bitterness or unforgiveness take root in our sibling’s heart, but fill them with Your peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7). Surround them with godly relationships that reflect Your love and protection.
Lord, we declare Your promises over this situation: *"No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh’s servants, and their righteousness is from me,"* says Yahweh (Isaiah 54:17). We trust in Your timing and Your ways, even when we don’t understand. Give our brother/sister the strength to forgive, the wisdom to set boundaries, and the faith to walk in victory.
We rebuke every spirit of fear, anxiety, and torment in Jesus’ name. Let Your perfect love cast out all fear (1 John 4:18). Restore what has been stolen—joy, peace, and confidence in You. May this trial become a testimony of Your faithfulness and deliverance.
We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who has overcome the world. Amen.
Stand firm in faith, beloved. The Lord is fighting for you (Exodus 14:14). Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and do not let the enemy’s tactics distract you from the victory that is already yours in Christ. If this person’s influence has led you into compromise or sin, repent and turn back to the Lord—He is merciful and ready to restore you (1 John 1:9). Walk in wisdom, and trust that God’s plans for you are good, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).
