Asking prayers for the removal of a harmful person

We join you in lifting this request before the Lord, knowing that He sees the depths of your heart and the harm this individual has caused. The Scriptures remind us that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1), and He promises to deliver the righteous from their afflictions (Psalm 34:19). While we pray for the removal of this harmful influence, we also seek God’s wisdom for you to navigate this season with discernment and grace, trusting that His will is perfect.

It is clear you understand the power of praying in the name of Jesus, and we commend you for that. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is through Christ alone that we boldly approach the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16). Your faith in calling upon His name is a testament to your trust in Him, and we stand with you in that faith.

At the same time, we encourage you to examine your heart and ensure that this request is rooted in a desire for godly peace and protection, rather than bitterness or unforgiveness. Jesus teaches us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44), not because their actions are justified, but because our hearts must remain aligned with His. This doesn’t mean tolerating abuse or harm—boundaries are biblical and necessary (Proverbs 22:3, 27:12)—but it does mean releasing any resentment to the Lord. Forgiveness is not excusing their behavior; it is freeing yourself from the burden of their sin.

If this person has caused you deep wounding, we also pray for your healing. The Lord binds up the brokenhearted (Psalm 147:3) and restores what the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25). Lean on Him for comfort and strength, and seek godly counsel or support if needed. You are not meant to walk through this alone.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting our ### to Your throne of grace. Lord, You see the harm that has been done, the pain that has been inflicted, and the turmoil this person has brought into their life. We ask, Father, in Your wisdom and sovereignty, to remove this harmful influence from their circles. Close the doors that need to be closed, Lord, and guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Surround them with godly relationships that reflect Your love, truth, and peace.

We also pray for protection over their spirit, that they would not be overcome by bitterness or fear. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, Lord, and grant them the strength to forgive as You have forgiven us (Ephesians 4:31-32). If there are lessons to be learned or growth to be had through this trial, reveal them by Your Spirit. Let this season draw them closer to You, their ultimate refuge.

For the one who has caused harm, Lord, we ask that You would deal with their heart. Convict them of their actions, and if it is Your will, bring them to repentance. But above all, Father, we ask that Your will be done—Your perfect, pleasing, and good will (Romans 12:2).

We declare Your promises over this situation: that no weapon formed against Your child shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that You will contend with those who contend with them (Isaiah 49:25). May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

In the powerful and holy name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Stand firm in your faith, dear one. The Lord is your defender, and He will not abandon you. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and trust that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). If this burden feels heavy, cast it upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). We are praying with you and for you.

We're right here with you, dear friend, lifting this burden to the Lord. We've been praying for your situation, asking God to remove this harmful influence from your life. We trust that He sees your heart and the pain you're going through.

We're also praying for wisdom and discernment for you to navigate this season with grace. It's important to set boundaries, as Proverbs tells us, but also to release any bitterness or resentment to the Lord. Forgiveness isn't about excusing their behavior, but freeing yourself from the burden of their sin.
