Asking for prayer for health

I am ### years old and have been struggling with rising blood pressure. It’s getting dangerous. Medication, etc. just doesn’t seem to be helping. I can feel it. My wife and kids need me on this earth just a little longer. I want to be here for them, not myself. I also ask the Lord to guide me in His path, His ways, and not my own. I hope that He will bring me closer to him and remove all the devils will from my heart and my being. Any prayers offered are graciously appreciated!

We have heard your request and we are lifting you up together before the throne of grace. We understand the fear that comes with a body that feels out of control, and we hear the love in your heart for your wife and children and your desire to remain with them and serve them. That desire to lay down your life for your family is good and honors God, for He has placed you as husband and father to love and guard them. We thank God for your honest desire to walk in His path and not your own, and to have every influence of the enemy removed from your heart and being.

We want to encourage you that God cares deeply about your health. Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit as it is written in 1 Cor 6:19-20, and He calls us to steward it well while trusting Him as our ultimate healer. He says in Psalm 103:3 who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases and in Jer 30:17 But I will restore you to health, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. We encourage you to continue faithfully under the care of your doctors and with the medication you have been given, for God often works through the wisdom He gives to physicians, and do not grow weary in seeking help. We also encourage you to consider with your doctor and family the matters of rest, diet, sleep, and the burdens and anxieties you carry, for much of our physical strain is tied to the cares of this life. Scripture calls us in Phil 4:6-7 In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We also cling to Prov 3:5-6 Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight, which is exactly what you have asked for.

We rejoice that you want the will of the enemy removed from your heart. The enemy seeks to steal and destroy, but God calls us to submit to Him and resist the devil. As it is written in James 4:7 Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you and in 1 Peter 5:8-9 Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Withstand him steadfast in your faith. This happens as we daily repent, turn from sin, renew our minds in the Word, and walk in obedience. We encourage you to stay in the Word, in prayer, and in fellowship, confessing any sin the Holy Spirit reveals and asking Him to cleanse and fill you anew.

We noticed you spoke of the Lord but did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And it is written in Acts 4:12 There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. To be brought closer to God and to be delivered from the power of darkness, we must come through faith in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord as it says in Rom 10:9 that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. If you have not already done so, we urge you to place your full trust in Jesus alone for salvation and for daily access to God, and to call upon His name in all your prayers.

Father in heaven, we come before You together in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We lift up this husband and father to You and ask for Your mercy and healing hand upon his body. You know his blood pressure and the danger he feels, You know every heartbeat, and You number our days. We ask You to touch his body, to bring his blood pressure into a safe and healthy place, to give wisdom to his doctors, to make his medication effective or to guide them to what will help, and to grant him peace that guards his heart. We ask You to help him steward his body well with rest and wisdom. We pray for his wife and children, that You would comfort them and guard them from fear. Lord, we ask that You draw him very close to Yourself, that You guide him in Your path and teach him Your ways, that You cleanse his heart from every influence of the enemy and fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may walk in righteousness and truth. Remove the will of the devil from his being and establish Your will in him. We pray he would know Your peace and Your presence daily, and that his life would be a testimony of Your grace to his family for many years to come if it is Your will. Forgive his sins through the blood of Jesus and let him live in the assurance of salvation through Christ alone. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and healer, amen.

Your love for your wife and kids comes through so clearly, and we hear how heavy it feels when your blood pressure keeps rising and the medication does not seem to be helping. Wanting to be here for them a little longer is a good and tender desire to bring to the Lord.

We are praying for your health and for peace while you wait for answers. Since you can feel this getting worse and it feels dangerous, we encourage you to let your doctor know right away that things are not improving. If you can, bring your wife with you so you are not carrying the worry or the information alone. Please keep following the care they have given and keep them updated, and we will keep praying alongside that care.

We also hear your heart to walk more closely with the Lord and to have Him shape your desires and direction. That longing matters to Him. In these days, simple honest prayer, time in His Word, and a quiet surrender each morning can be a steady way to invite Him to lead you step by step.

Father, we lift this husband and father to You. You see his love for his family and his desire to follow You. Grant wisdom to his doctors, steadiness to his body, and nearness to his heart. Give him and his wife peace and clear next steps, and lead him day by day in Your ways. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your request has been laid before the Lord and we have carried it to the throne of grace on your behalf, and we do not cease to remember you, your wife and your children in prayer.

We are moved by your desire not for yourself alone but that you might be spared a little longer for those whom God has given you, and by your longing to be guided in His path and not your own, and to have every evil will removed from your heart and being. Like as a father loves the voice of his child, so does our heavenly Father love the voices of His beloved and He hearkens to the voice of their cry. He not only hears but grants desire according to His infinite wisdom and love. When the Divine Father is viewed aright through our Lord Jesus Christ, He becomes the object of our gratitude, not of our dread, for the Father Himself loves you, and he that has seen Christ has seen the Father.

We are reminded that there is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. It is written that the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. His very leaves are healing, to change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. Pardon and healing are placed in happy conjunction, for when the Sun of Righteousness rises with healing in His wings, He says, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you. The blood of Jesus Christ, God's dear Son, cleanses us from all sin. How shall we reckon ourselves to be beloved children if our Father is still our Judge, therefore we first ask for that pardoning grace which brings the spirit of adoption to cry, Abba, Father. There we find all we need, all our necessities can demand.

Let us pray together.

O God, You have taught us from our youth and until this time we declare Your wondrous works, be pleased to look upon this Your servant in his affliction. You see the rising pressure of his blood, the danger he feels, and how medicine has not yet brought relief. You are the great Physician, and every truth of Your Word has healing virtue. Lay Your hand upon his body, calm his blood, strengthen his heart, and grant skill and wisdom to those who care for him. Spare him, if it seem good in Your sight, for the sake of his wife and children, that he may yet be a help and comfort to them and walk before You in the land of the living. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight.

Grant him also the deeper healing which You love to give. Forgive his sins through the blood of Christ alone, cleanse his heart, remove all that is contrary to Your will, and take from him the will of the enemy. Make him Your pupil in the school of grace, chastened but never cast out, taught to observe Your work and to wonder at it, and to declare Your wondrous works with pen and voice. Guide him in Your path, that his thoughts may be brought into agreement with Your thoughts and his ways into Your ways. Keep him near to Christ, in whom alone is salvation, and cause him to trust not in his own strength but in Your faithful promise which may tarry but never fails.

We ask this not because we are worthy, but because we come in the name of Jesus Christ, our only Saviour, who is appointed as High Priest to declare the remission of sin and who is exalted to give repentance and forgiveness. Hear us, O Father, and answer according to Your mercy.

We will continue to bear you up before the Lord, trusting that whether He grants healing below or perfect healing above, He will do that which is best for His child, and that He will be a better Father to you and to your household than the best of fathers could ever be. Cast your burden upon Him, for He cares for you.

God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about.
