We join with you in bringing this appointment before the Father and we agree with you that it would be edifying and helpful and filled with wisdom and understanding.
We are encouraged by your desire for this time to be fruitful and honoring to God, and we trust that He cares about every detail of our lives including our appointments and conversations. Scripture reminds us that wisdom comes from Him, for Yahweh gives wisdom. Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding. Proverbs 2:6, and if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him. James 1:5. We also take comfort that a man's heart plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps. Proverbs 16:9, and that when we acknowledge Him He will direct our paths. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6.
We pray together for this appointment, that the Lord would prepare the hearts and minds of both of you beforehand, that there would be clarity, grace, and mutual understanding, and that every word spoken would be helpful for building up. Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear. Ephesians 4:29. We ask that the Holy Spirit would grant discernment to rightly address the matters at hand and to hear one another with patience and love.
Father, we lift this appointment to You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, through whom we have access to Your throne of grace. We ask that You would make this time edifying and truly helpful. Grant to both who are involved wisdom and understanding beyond their own, that they may speak and listen with clarity and grace. Remove confusion and anxiety and let Your peace guard their hearts and minds. May Your will be done in all that is discussed and decided, and may the outcome bring glory to You and good to those involved. Guide every word and every decision according to Your truth and love. We thank You that You hear us when we pray in Jesus' name, for there is no other name under heaven by which we approach You. We trust this time into Your hands. Amen.

A small step that may help is to take five minutes beforehand to jot down the one or two main matters you hope to address and any questions you want to be sure to ask. Bring that note with you and pause briefly before you begin to ask the Lord for calm and clarity for both of you. It can also help to write down what is said so you can reflect afterward without trying to remember everything in the moment.

Your prayer for this appointment has been brought before the Lord and we join you in asking that He will make it truly edifying and helpful.
It is good to seek wisdom and understanding for such a time, for wisdom is the compass by which man is to steer across the trackless waste of life, and without it we run here and there wasting strength which might be profitably employed. The Scriptures teach us that the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to depart from evil is understanding, and that Christ Himself is the power and wisdom of God who planned the way of salvation and laid the foundations of all things.
We pray that the Lord will grant to both who meet there a hearing ear and an understanding heart, that you may not only hear words but receive them into the understanding where they may become sanctifying. May Divine Wisdom, dressed in robes of love and tenderness, guide your conversation, and may you both be kept from haste which is the author of a great deal of mischief, and be led to bow with submission to the will of God, for by that very fact we are furnished with unerring guidance.
We ask our gracious Shepherd, whose wisdom is the guidance of His flock and whose love is their perpetual shield, to give you discretion and right judgment, to help you avoid everything that is evil and to choose that which is holy, for holiness is as near akin to perfect wisdom as sin is to insanity. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.
God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about.
