Apetite

We have heard your request for your loved one's appetite to increase and we join with you in bringing this need before our heavenly Father together in Jesus' name.

We know how worrying it can be when someone we love is not eating well or lacks strength, and we are reminded that our bodies are wonderfully made by God and that He cares for our daily needs. He satisfies the longing soul and fills the hungry soul with good, Psalm 107:9, and we see His faithful provision when Jesus said, See the birds of the sky, that they don't sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren't you of much more value than they, Matthew 6:26. We also hold to the prayer, Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers, 3 John 1:2. Whether this lack of appetite is from illness, stress, or another cause, we trust that God is our healer and sustainer and that whether we eat or drink we are to do all to the glory of God, 1 Corinthians 10:31.

We notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share why that matters to us. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6, and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. If we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved, Romans 10:9. It is in His name we pray with confidence.

We pray together now, Father in heaven, we lift up this precious loved one to You and ask in the name of Jesus that You would restore and increase appetite and bring health and strength to the body You created. Lord, You know the cause of this loss of appetite and we ask You to touch the body, to heal any infirmity, to calm any anxiety, and to provide nourishment that sustains. Help this loved one to receive food with thanksgiving and to be strengthened for the work You have for them. Give wisdom to those caring for them and to any doctors or caregivers, and give peace to the family who is concerned, trusting that You care for us and that You will supply all our needs according to Your riches in glory. We ask that You would be glorified in this body as Your temple, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, and that health would be restored for Your glory. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord daily, to offer meals with prayer and thanksgiving, and to seek wise medical counsel if this loss of appetite continues, for God often works through the wisdom He gives to physicians. Keep praying and keep giving thanks, for we know that every good gift comes from the Father and that He delights to care for His children.

We noticed your request about your loved one's appetite and we want you to know we are holding you both in prayer. It is hard to watch someone you love not want to eat and to feel helpless about how to help.

We will keep praying for strength and comfort for you both and for wisdom as you care for them. If this change in appetite has continued or you are concerned, it can be a good next step to reach out to their doctor or clinic team alongside prayer, so they can be evaluated and you can share what you are seeing. Having a short note about when the change started and any other changes you have noticed can be helpful to bring with you.

You are showing love simply by noticing and bringing this to the Lord. We know you cannot carry this worry alone, and we are thankful you let us stand with you in prayer. We are with you in that.

Father, we lift this dear loved one to You and ask for Your care over their body and spirit. Give them strength, ease any underlying burden, and guide those caring for them with wisdom. Comfort this one who is praying and draw you both close to Your peace. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have heard your prayer concerning the appetite of your loved one, and we bring it before the Lord with you.

It is a great blessing when food and appetite meet together, and we know how heavy the heart becomes when the body has meat before it but no desire for it. Yet we are reminded that our God is He who both gives the mouth and sends meat for it. When the Lord gives the appetite, He will surely find the meat, for in His family He never sends a mouth without providing that which shall fill it.

We take comfort also in this, that Jesus is the Tree of Life whose leaves are for the healing of His people. There is but one sacred Fountain opened on Calvary, and there grows no healing herb but that one plant of renown. Every word that falls from His lips bears healing in it for some one or other of the thousand ills that have befallen our humanity, and the abiding power of those healing leaves keeps the soul and body of the believer till glory life begins. When the Sun of Righteousness rises with healing in His wings, pardon and healing are found together, and the same grace which forgives sin infuses health and cure till we shall be without spot.

Let us pray together.

O Lord our God, the Holy One of Israel, our Saviour, Thou hast in mercy given us all things richly to enjoy, look with pity upon this loved one whose appetite has failed. Lay Thy healing hand upon the body, restore strength and desire for food, and cause appetite and nourishment to meet again for Thy goodness. We ask Thee to turn this bodily need into a spiritual blessing, that there may be also a holy hunger and thirst after Christ, who is all excellences compounded in Divine harmony, the one perfect sweet. Give a mouth for Christ, and then fill it to the full with His grace, for Christ is best loved when viewed as crucified for us. Keep this dear one under the healing virtue of Thy grace, and let health spring forth in body and soul, to the praise of Thy great love in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Your concern for your loved one's appetite and health has been heard and brought before the Lord with care.

We pray that God, who alone gives the increase, would look upon your loved one with mercy. It is not food itself that builds up the body, but the providence of God who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food. We ask Him to grant what is needed for nourishment and strength, not for excess but for health, for He gave meat and drink for nourishment and for the sustaining of the body He created.

We pray also for wisdom and patience in caring for this body. A sufficiency is both nourishment and pleasure and health, while excess becomes injury and disease. We ask the Lord to guide you to provide what is sufficient and what can be well digested, without loading the body beyond what it can bear, trusting that He will use even simple means for good.

We remember that after sickness the body often needs time to return to its former strength, and we pray that God who touched and healed with perfect power would restore appetite and vigor in His good time, whether gradually or at once, according to His wisdom. As we pray for bodily health, we also pray for the increase of the fruits of righteousness, that hunger for what is spiritual would grow alongside strength for the body, for bodily nourishment is at His disposal and spiritual growth comes as we set our will toward Him.

May the Lord grant your loved one a renewed desire for food in the measure that brings health, clarity and strength to serve Him, and may He bless your household, increase your faith and teach you to rest in His provision. We commit this need to the Father through Jesus Christ, asking for daily bread and for grace to receive it with thanksgiving. Amen.
