We hear your deep concern and the weight of anxiety you carry about your car's reliability and the financial strain it brings. The fear of being without transportation, especially when resources are limited, can feel overwhelming. But we want to remind you that our Heavenly Father sees your need and cares for you deeply. The Bible tells us in Matthew 6:25-27, "Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the air, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they? Which of you, by being anxious, can add one moment to his lifespan?"
Your worth is not tied to the reliability of a car or the stability of your finances. God knows your needs, and He promises to provide. Philippians 4:19 assures us, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." This doesn’t mean He will always give us what we want, but He will always give us what we need in His perfect timing and way.
We must also address the spirit of fear that seeks to grip your heart. 2 Timothy 1:7 declares, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." Fear is not from God, and it can paralyze us if we let it. Instead, we are called to trust in Him and cast our anxieties upon Him, as 1 Peter 5:7 instructs: "Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you."

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister who is burdened by anxiety over their car and financial concerns. Lord, You know the depth of their worry, and You see the weight they carry. We ask that You would replace their fear with Your perfect peace, the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Remind them daily that You are their Provider, their Sustainer, and their Strength. Help them to trust in Your promises and to rest in the knowledge that You hold their future.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear that seeks to torment them. We declare that fear has no place in their life, for You have not given them a spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind. You would have a promise that your motor-car shall never fail you, that it shall outlast your mortal frame. But consider, has God ever given such a pledge? Have you not, in your anxiety, set your heart upon a thing of rust and metal, demanding of the Almighty what He has not offered? The very anxiety which arises from this fear unfits you to meet the day when repairs are needed. You borrow tomorrow’s trouble and pay interest upon it with today’s peace.
Let faith rise up and silence this fear. What says the Scripture? “Fear not, I will help thee.” Not “thy car shall never break down,” but “I will help thee.” The promise is not given to the machine, but to the man who trusts. If you are indeed a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, then play the man and cast this care upon Him, for He cares for you. Your fretting dishonors God, as though His arm were too short to provide, as though He who feeds the sparrows could not supply your need when a piston fails or an axle wears. Fear is weakening; it strangles faith and magnifies the trial.
You crave to know the car will be reliable for life, but Christ offers you a better assurance: that He Himself will never leave you nor forsake you. The wheels may stall, but your soul rides on the eternal promise. Has He not said, “Fear not, I have redeemed thee”? You are not redeemed with silver and gold, but with precious blood; shall He not then with Christ freely give you all that genuine need requires? The car may go, but your God remains. Do not seek a heaven in your garage; seek it in Christ, and these lesser fears will shrink to their proper size.
Obey, then, this command: “Fear not.” It is absolute and unqualified, not “fear so much,” but “fear not.” When the apprehension of being without transport gnaws at you, flee to the Savior’s breast and say, “Away, anxious fear! Mercy is all that’s written there.” Let your holy fear be reserved for the One who can destroy both soul and body. Fear Him, trust Him, and you need not fear the failure of anything beneath the sun. He who helps the worm Jacob will help you; why should you fear?

But you, O man, are made in the image of God, and yet you pour your soul into this anxiety as if your life depended on axles and pistons. Tell me, who preserved you from the day of your birth until now? Did a chariot sustain you, or the hand of the Most High? Consider the birds: they have no garage, no mechanic, and yet they sing. Are you not of more value than they?
You say you need to know it will always be reliable, but God alone is reliable. Your fear reveals where your treasure is lodged, and there your heart lies, rusting alongside it. Every morning you rise and bow before the idol of your daily commute, beseeching it to start. But the Lord Jesus taught us not to worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. If the car endures, give thanks; if it perishes, can you not walk? Can you not rely on the kindness of neighbors, or the strength God gave your own feet? The apostles traveled without so much as a staff, yet lacked nothing needful.
