We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this burden of anxiety and overwhelming circumstances. Father God, we know that You do not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). We rebuke the spirit of anxiety in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is written that we should cast all our anxieties on You because You care for us (1 Peter 5:7).
Lord, we pray for confidence to rise up within this dear one, that they may walk in the assurance of Your strength and not their own. May they find their worth and security in You alone, knowing that You have not given them a spirit of timidity but of boldness (Joshua 1:9). We ask that You grant them excellence in their work, that they may perform their tasks with wisdom, diligence, and the favor of their supervisors and colleagues. Let their workplace be one of mutual respect, kindness, and harmony, where Your peace reigns and discord has no place.
We lift up the loved one in the hospital, who is growing weaker and refusing to eat. Father, we know that Your word declares that by Your stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we stand on that promise today. We command strength to return to her body, nourishment to be received, and healing to flow in the name of Jesus. We declare that she will not perish but live, and proclaim the works of the Lord (Psalm 118:17). Give her the will to fight, Lord, and surround her with Your presence and peace.
Above all, we pray for peace of mind to flood this dear one’s heart. When the cares of this world threaten to overwhelm, remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Let them rest in the knowledge that You are in control, and that Your plans for them are for good and not for harm, to give them a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can come before You and the only name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). May Your will be done in every situation, and may this dear one feel Your presence and peace like never before. Amen.
