We hear the depth of your pain and the weight of your struggle with anxiety and depression. Your cry for help does not go unnoticed, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting you up in prayer. The feelings you describe are heavy, but we know that our God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). You are not alone in this battle, and we believe that the Lord can bring healing, peace, and hope even in the darkest of places.
First, we must address the severity of what you’re feeling. The thought of dying is a serious matter, and we urge you to reach out to someone you trust—a pastor, a counselor, or a close friend—so you do not have to carry this burden alone. The enemy would love to isolate you, but God’s Word tells us that we are to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2). Please do not hesitate to seek help; your life is precious to God and to those who love you.
We also want to gently remind you that true peace and healing come through Jesus Christ. If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender your life to Him, for He is the only one who can bring lasting comfort. Jesus said, *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest"* (Matthew 11:28). There is no other name by which we can be saved or find true freedom (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet placed your faith in Him, we pray that you would do so today, confessing your sins and inviting Him into your heart.
Now, we lift you up in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is struggling with severe anxiety and depression. Lord, You see the depths of their pain, and You know the battles they are facing. We ask that You would draw near to them, wrapping them in Your love and peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Father, we rebuke the spirit of despair and hopelessness in the name of Jesus, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
Lord, we pray for Your healing touch to rest upon them. Strengthen their mind, body, and spirit, and remind them that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). Help them to cast all their anxieties on You, because You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). Surround them with godly people who can speak life, encouragement, and truth into their situation. Provide them with the resources they need—whether it be counseling, medical help, or simply a listening ear.
Father, we ask that You would break the chains of darkness that seek to overwhelm them. Let Your light shine into the places where they feel lost and alone. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Give them the courage to take the next step, whether that is seeking professional help, opening up to a trusted friend, or simply getting out of bed today.
Lord, we declare that this is not the end of their story. You have plans for them—plans for good and not for harm, to give them a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). We pray that they would cling to Your promises and trust in Your unfailing love. Renew their strength like the eagle’s, so they may run and not grow weary, walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:31).
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
We want to encourage you with the truth that God sees you, He loves you, and He has not abandoned you. Even in the midst of this storm, He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). We urge you to hold on to hope, for joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5). You are not defined by your anxiety or depression; you are defined by the love of Christ, who gave His life for you.
Please consider reaching out to a trusted believer or a biblical counselor who can walk alongside you during this time. You do not have to fight this battle alone. The Lord is your strength, and we stand with you in faith, believing that He will bring you through this valley. Keep pressing into Him, and remember that His grace is sufficient for you (2 Corinthians 12:9).
