Answer Prayers

Beloved of All
Lord I need you. I pray that you will answer. I pray my grandson ### will not have to go back to jail. I pray that he get his life together and start doing the right thing like getting a job. In Jesus Name I Pray. Amen

We join you in lifting up your grandson before the throne of grace, trusting in the power of prayer and the mercy of our Lord. The concern for his freedom and future is heavy on your heart, and we stand with you in seeking God’s intervention.

First, we must acknowledge that true transformation comes through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. If your grandson has not yet surrendered his life to Him, we pray that the Holy Spirit would convict his heart and draw him to repentance. Scripture tells us, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16). Salvation is the foundation upon which all other change is built.

We also recognize that the consequences of past actions may still need to be faced, but we pray for God’s mercy to prevail in his legal situation. "The Lord is gracious, merciful, slow to anger, and of great loving kindness" (Psalm 145:8). May the Lord soften the hearts of those in authority and open a door for redemption.

For his future, we pray that he would turn away from any ungodly influences and seek wisdom in his decisions. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths" (Proverbs 3:5-6). A job is a good step, but true fulfillment comes from walking in God’s will. We rebuke any spirit of laziness, rebellion, or addiction that may be hindering him, and we declare that he is called to a higher purpose.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this precious grandson. Lord, we ask that You intervene in his legal situation and grant him favor. Soften his heart to receive Your truth and turn from any sin that entangles him. Father, we pray for a spirit of diligence and responsibility to take root in his life. Provide him with godly mentors, opportunities for work, and the strength to walk in integrity. If he does not yet know You, Lord, draw him to salvation. Break every chain that binds him, and let him experience the freedom found only in Christ. We trust in Your perfect timing and Your unfailing love. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue standing in faith, trusting that God hears your prayers. Even when the road is difficult, remember that "the Lord is near to all those who call on him, to all who call on him in truth" (Psalm 145:18). Keep praying, keep believing, and keep pointing your grandson to Christ, the only One who can truly set him free.

We're holding your grandson before the Lord with you, and we know the ache of a grandmother's heart watching someone you love stumble toward consequences. It's heavy, and it's holy, this burden you're carrying for him. We're not going to pile on Scripture after the first reply; we're just here to sit with you in it and pray.

First, we want to say: the very things you're asking, freedom from jail, a turn toward right living, a steady job, are the kinds of things God delights in working together for good when a heart begins to soften. Your prayers are planting seeds that may be sprouting long before you can see them.

A practical step: if your grandson is open to it, or if you're able to gently suggest it, connecting him with a church-based reentry or job readiness ministry, or even a Christian mentor who's walked a similar road, can make a huge difference. Sometimes someone who's been where he is can reach him in ways family can't. Even if he resists, your own steady, prayerful presence is a lifeline.

We also want you to remember: God’s mercy isn't stalled by a jail sentence. Even if things don't go as you hope in the immediate moment, He can still redeem a life locked behind bars. So let your prayers be bold, but rest your hope in the One who rewrites futures.

Let's pray together:

Father, in Jesus' name, we lift up this grandson. We ask You to keep him from returning to incarceration. Give him a hunger to do what's right, a genuine turn, and open a door to honest work. Surround him with people who will speak truth into his life and help him walk a new path. And for his grandmother, we ask for Your peace that steadies her heart, day by day. Let her see glimmers of Your hand at work. Amen.

The Lord turns the captivity of His people when they pray for their friends. You have cried out for your grandson, and this is no small thing, for intercessory prayer is exceedingly prevalent. It has stayed plagues, opened prison doors, and brought prodigals home. Yet remember that the great ransom has already been found, Christ Jesus gave Himself for sinners.

The surest deliverance for your grandson is not merely that he escape the prison walls of men, but that he be set free from the prison of sin. If he would know true liberty, he must humble himself greatly before God, for the Lord hears the prayer of the contrite. Pray therefore with all your might, but pray chiefly that his soul may be brought to spiritual life, that he would hear God speaking in the secret of his heart. When a man sees his own sin in the light of Jehovah’s holiness, he abhors himself in dust and ashes, and that very repentance is the sign of his deliverance.

Do not restrain prayer in this matter. Pour out your soul like water before the Lord. Though the answer tarry, wait for it. The appointed time of his warfare may be used to work an eternal change.

Lay hold of the promise, and let your faith be as the importunate widow’s, never ceasing until the blessing comes.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The anguish of your heart reaches the throne of God, and your prayer is heard. Yet we must not only cry out for deliverance from temporal jail, but above all for the deliverance of your grandson's soul from the darkness of sin. For what does it profit him if he escapes prison yet remains bound by iniquity? The true light, which is Christ, shines in the darkness of this world, and the darkness has not overcome it.

If your grandson turns his inner eye, which is the mind, toward that light, his whole body will be full of light. But if that eye remains evil, how great is the darkness! Do not think that believing alone is sufficient. The Apostle warns us to hold fast the word of life, not merely with the lips but with a blameless life, for faith without works is dead and cannot save.

Your grandson must prove all things, hold fast to what is good, and abstain from every form of evil. He must not quench the Spirit by persisting in lawlessness, but let the grace of God kindled in him become a bright lamp. Getting a job and doing right is a beginning, yet let him not only seek to escape punishment but to walk honestly as in the day, for the night is far spent and the day is at hand. Cease from murmuring over this trial; instead, let your own steadfast trust shine as a light in the midst of a crooked generation.

Exhort him that the day of Christ is coming, when each will be judged not by faith alone but by deeds, and only those who hold fast to what is good will inherit glory and honor and incorruptible life. The God who called light out of darkness is able to transform even his heart, if he yields to the drawing of the Father. So pray without ceasing, but also speak the truth in love, that his soul may be saved from the greater prison of eternal darkness.
