We hear your heart, dear one, and we want you to know that your feelings are not trivial in the eyes of our Heavenly Father. The disappointment you feel, even over something as small as a plushie triceratops, matters to Him because He cares deeply about every detail of your life. The Psalmist reminds us, "Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved" (Psalm 55:22). You are not alone in this season of transition, and your longing for comfort, even in small things, is understood by the One who knit you together.

We also recognize the weight of your current circumstances. Living in uncertainty, especially in an unsafe environment, can make even the smallest desires feel overwhelming. But we want to gently remind you that your worth is not found in material things or temporary comforts. Jesus tells us, "Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing?" (Matthew 6:25). The Lord is your provider, and He sees your needs, both the big and the small.

We must also address the importance of keeping our hearts aligned with God’s priorities. While it’s natural to desire comfort, we are called to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33). That doesn’t mean denying your feelings, but it does mean surrendering them to Him and trusting that He will meet you in this season. Your focus on finding stable housing is a godly one, and we believe the Lord is working even now to provide for you and your family.

Let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our dear brother/sister, lifting up their heart to You. Lord, You see the disappointment they feel, and You know the weight of their circumstances. We ask that You would comfort them in this time of transition, reminding them that You are their refuge and strength. Help them to cast their anxieties on You, knowing that You care for every detail of their life. Father, we pray for provision, both for their physical needs and for the desires of their heart. Give them patience and peace as they wait on You, and guard their heart from discouragement. We ask that You would lead them to safe and stable housing, and that You would surround them with Your protection. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to trust in Your perfect timing. We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.

We encourage you to hold fast to the truth that God is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). Even in the waiting, He is shaping your character and drawing you closer to Himself. If you find yourself struggling with impatience or sadness, turn to Him in prayer and ask for His peace to fill your heart. The Lord is faithful, and He will not abandon you in this season.

If you have not already, we also want to gently remind you of the importance of placing your faith in Jesus Christ. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father, and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). If you have not surrendered your life to Him, we encourage you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and invite Him to be the Lord of your life. He is the ultimate source of peace, hope, and provision.

We hear how frustrating it is when a small comfort feels out of reach, especially when your living situation is so unsettled right now. When you’re bouncing between a motel and waiting to hear about shelter or housing, even a little stuffed dinosaur can become a symbol of stability, something to hold onto that says “this is mine.” It’s not stupid to want that. It’s human.

The disappointment you’re feeling is real, and God is not distant from it. He cares about the things that weigh on your heart, even the ones you think are too small to matter. Patience often gets built in these very moments, not in huge crises, but in the daily pauses where we have to wait for something we can’t control. And while you wait, it’s okay to feel sad. You don’t have to shame yourself out of it.

If you can, maybe look for a tiny, safe comfort where you are right now, a picture of a triceratops on your phone, a doodle on a napkin, a simple snack. Not to replace the plushie, but to remind yourself that God’s kindness shows up in unexpected ways, and that your longing for a home and a bit of joy is something He placed in you. We’ll be praying with you for that two-bedroom apartment, for safety, and for a settled heart.

Jesus, be close to our friend in this motel room. Quiet the impatience and sadness with Your steady presence. Provide the right housing soon, and until then, let small moments of comfort and peace break through. In Your name, amen.

You are in a motel room, waiting until Tuesday, and then waiting again for whatever door opens next, a shelter, a housing program, the hope of a two-bedroom apartment. In the middle of all that unsettledness, your heart reached out for something small and cheering: a plush triceratops. And as soon as the wish formed, you felt foolish for it. “It’s materialistic, it’s stupid, it takes too long to ship anyway,” you told yourself. But listen to me gently, dear heart. Your heavenly Father does not despise the small longings of His children. He knows you are dust. He made the triceratops in ages long gone, and He knows how a little creature of fabric and stuffing can be a comfort when the floor under your feet feels so temporary. Do not chide yourself for wanting a bit of softness to hold onto. A child who tugs at his father’s coat for a penny toy while the family is between houses is not scolded, he is gathered into the father’s arms, and the father understands. So it is with your God. Bring every little thing to Him; He numbers the hairs of your head, and a plush dinosaur is not beneath His notice.

But I want to speak to you about the waiting itself. You are in between, and that is a deep-water place. Only shallow water threatens the ship; in the deep, the vessel floats secure. Right now, you are held up by a mighty God who waits to be gracious to you. He is not pacing the heavens, wringing His hands, wondering what to do with your housing. The very apartment or room is already in His mind, and He will bring you into it at the exact right hour. The farmer waits with long patience for the precious fruit of the earth; he cannot hurry the early and latter rain, but he trusts the seasons. So with you. Your task is not to pry open doors but to wait on the Lord. And while you wait, cry to Him. Tell Him about the disappointment over the triceratops, about the weariness of the motel, about the longing for a place you can call home. He loves the honest cries of His children. He is not looking for you to be a stoic, He is looking for you to be His own.

You mentioned the area is not safe for ordering such things. There may be a hidden mercy even in that thistle. The Lord knows how to shield you from dangers you cannot see, and sometimes a disappointment is the envelope that carries a protection. He works all things together for your good, even the little vexations that prick your heart. Do not measure His love by whether a package arrives or not. Measure it by the cross. He who gave His Son for you will not withhold any good thing. And in the meantime, He gives you Himself. You have Him to talk to in that motel room, He is your safety before the safe place comes, your home before the walls are built.

Lord Jesus, this dear one feels small and foolish and tired of waiting. Come close to that motel room and sit with them in the quiet. You who took little children in Your arms and blessed them, bless this childlike heart that just wanted a soft thing to hold. Grant a patience that is not a hard gritting of teeth but a sweet leaning on Your wisdom. Until the door opens, be the door. Until the earthly home appears, be the home. And let every little longing be whispered into Your ear, trusting that You care for the whole person, body, soul, and even the hidden wishes we are almost embarrassed to name. We ask it in Your strong and tender name, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We want you to know how deeply we’ve been lifting you up in prayer these past days. Your honesty about feeling disappointed and impatient touched our hearts, and we’ve been asking the Lord to meet you right where you are—in the waiting, in the uncertainty, and in those small but very real longings of your heart. We’ve prayed for peace to guard your mind and for trust to anchor your spirit as you navigate this season of transition. You’re not alone in this, and we believe God sees every detail, even the ones that feel unimportant to the world.

We’ve also been praying specifically for your housing situation—that the Lord would guide those helping you to find a safe, stable place quickly, and that He would provide the perfect two-bedroom apartment in His perfect timing. We asked Him to open doors no one can shut and to give you favor in every conversation and application. And yes, we even prayed about that triceratops plushie—because our Father delights in caring for the desires of your heart, big and small. May He remind you of His love for you in unexpected ways as you wait.

If any of these prayers have been answered, we’d love to rejoice with you! Please share a praise report so we can celebrate God’s faithfulness together. If the waiting continues, we’re here to keep standing with you. You don’t have to carry this alone. Let us know how we can continue to pray, and we’ll lift it all to the throne of grace again. May the Lord fill you with His hope and surround you with His presence as you seek Him through Jesus Christ. We pray this in Jesus’ Name.
