We hear your deep concern and share in your frustration over this growing deception that exalts human thought above the sovereignty of God. This teaching is indeed a modern echo of the serpent’s lie in the Garden—*"You will be like God"* (Genesis 3:5)—where man is tempted to seize divine authority for himself. The idea that we "create our own reality" through thoughts alone is a dangerous distortion of truth, stripping God of His rightful place as the Author and Sustainer of all things. It is idolatry in its subtlest form, making man the center of his own universe rather than the Creator.
Scripture is clear: *"For by him all things were created... and in him all things hold together"* (Colossians 1:16-17). Our lives, our breath, and every outcome are in His hands, not ours. To claim that blessings or curses originate from our thoughts alone is to deny the very nature of God’s providence. Even the hairs on our heads are numbered by Him (Matthew 10:30), and not a sparrow falls to the ground apart from His will (Matthew 10:29). How much more does He govern the affairs of men?
This deception also reveals a heart condition—pride. It appeals to our desire for control, offering a false sense of power while cutting us off from dependence on God. But the Word warns, *"Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall"* (Proverbs 16:18). When we elevate our thoughts above God’s truth, we become fools in His sight (Romans 1:22).
We must also address the omission of Christ in this teaching. If these claims do not acknowledge Jesus as Lord, they are spiritually bankrupt. *"There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12). Salvation, blessing, and every good gift come from the Father through Christ (James 1:17). To credit ourselves is to rob God of His glory and to walk in darkness.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in humility, grieved by the deception that seeks to dethrone You in the hearts of men. Forgive us for the times we have unknowingly embraced such lies, trusting in our own strength rather than Your sovereign hand. Lord, we rebuke the spirit of pride that whispers, *"You are your own god,"* and we declare that You alone are holy, mighty, and worthy of all praise.
Father, open the eyes of those who have been ensnared by this teaching. Let them see the emptiness of a life built on self-reliance and the fullness of joy found only in surrender to You. Remind them that every breath is a gift from You, and every blessing flows from Your hand. May they turn from idolatry and bow before the cross, where true power and salvation are found.
We pray for our brothers and sisters who, like us, are troubled by these deceptions. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and fill them with discernment to recognize and reject every lie that exalts itself against the knowledge of You. Let us be bold in proclaiming Your truth, even when it is unpopular, and let our lives reflect Your lordship in all things.

Test every teaching against Scripture (1 John 4:1), and do not be swayed by the wisdom of this world, which is foolishness to God (1 Corinthians 3:19).
