We join with you in lifting up these precious souls before our Heavenly Father and we are encouraged by your heart for their salvation and your desire for purity in your own walk.
We hear your burden for these three children and the people in their lives and for this teen, and we agree that God desires that none should perish but that all should come to repentance. As it is written, The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness, but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance, 2 Peter 3:9. And we know that salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. That name is Jesus Christ, whom you have rightly called upon, for if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved, Romans 10:9, and For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life, John 3:16.
We also hear your honest request for help to avoid looking at a certain person on YouTube and to avoid YouTube when necessary. This is a godly desire to guard your heart and eyes, and we want to encourage you in this battle. Jesus taught us that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart, Matthew 5:28, and Job made a covenant with his eyes to guard them, I made a covenant with my eyes, how then should I look lustfully at a young woman, Job 31:1. We are called to set no vile thing before our eyes, Psalm 101:3, and to pray, Turn my eyes away from looking at worthless things, Psalm 119:37. God is faithful and will provide a way of escape, for No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it, 1 Corinthians 10:13.
Together we pray. Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up these three children to you. If they do not yet know you as Savior, we ask that you draw them to yourself, open their hearts to the gospel, and bring godly influences into their lives to share your truth. We lift up all the people in their lives, their families, friends and those around them, and we ask for their salvation as well if they are in need. We also lift up this teen, and we ask that you work in his heart, reveal your love and your Son to him, and save him by your grace. Lord, we also ask for help for our dear fellow believer who desires purity. Give strength to turn away from temptation, to look away when needed, and to avoid YouTube when it becomes a snare. Fill that time with what is true, honorable, just, pure and lovely, as you call us to think on these things, Philippians 4:8. Help us to walk by your Spirit so we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh, and teach us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts and to live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world, Titus 2:12. Give wisdom to set boundaries, to use filters or accountability if needed, and to redeem time for prayer and your Word. We trust you to keep us and to complete the good work you have begun. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Savior, amen.
We encourage you to continue to intercede for these children and this teen by name before the Lord when you can, and to trust that God hears your prayers. For your own struggle, we encourage you to make a practical plan to flee temptation rather than to fight it up close, for the scripture says Flee sexual immorality, 1 Corinthians 6:18. Consider setting time limits, removing recommendations, keeping your device in a common area, and having a brother or sister in Christ to be accountable to. When the urge comes to look, turn immediately to prayer or to the Word, and remember that God sees your desire to honor Him and He will strengthen you day by day.
