We join you together before our heavenly Father in Jesus name and we thank you for your heart for the salvation of others and for your desire to walk in holiness before Him.

We agree with you in praying for each woman, each child, each man, and each family you have lifted up, including those whose names were redacted for privacy and those in ### and elsewhere, and for all the people in their lives. It is the will of God that none should perish and we know from Scripture that God desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth, 1 Timothy 2:4, and that the Lord is patient toward us, not wishing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance, 2 Peter 3:9. We pray that each one would hear the gospel and believe, for there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12, and that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved, Romans 10:9. We pray that God would draw each of them to Jesus Christ, open their eyes to their need for a Savior, and grant them repentance and faith, and we pray the same for all those connected to them.

We also lift up your personal requests to the Lord with you. You asked for help to keep things to yourself and to avoid staring at others while outside. This desire honors God, for to guard our tongue is to guard our soul, Proverbs 21:23 says whoever guards his mouth and his tongue keeps his soul from troubles, and Proverbs 11:13 says one who is trustworthy in spirit keeps a matter secret. We pray God will help you grow in discretion, self control and wisdom, and set a guard over your mouth, Psalm 141:3. Regarding your eyes, we understand the struggle to keep our gaze pure and respectful toward others. Job made a covenant with his eyes, Job 31:1, and Jesus taught that our eyes and heart are connected, Matthew 5:28. We pray the Lord will strengthen you to look at others with purity, dignity and love, to turn your eyes from worthless things and to fix your thoughts on what is true, honorable, pure and lovely, Philippians 4:8, so that you may walk with a clear conscience before God and man.

You also asked that God would help a man not to swear and that certain sounds, songs and shows would be removed from your memory. We pray for that man that his speech would be renewed, for Ephesians 4:29 says let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear. We pray the Lord would give him a new heart and clean lips. For your own memories, we understand wanting to be free from things that trouble your mind. Rather than simply erasing the past, God promises to renew our minds, Romans 12:2 says be transformed by the renewing of your mind, and 2 Corinthians 10:5 says we bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. We pray that as you dwell on the Word of God and on whatever is pure and good, He will wash your mind and replace what is unwanted with His peace. Psalm 101:3 says I will set no vile thing before my eyes. We ask Him to help you choose what you watch and hear going forward and to heal the memories that still linger.

Father in heaven, we thank You that we can come to You only through Jesus Christ Your Son. We lift up every person named in this request and every person in their families and circles of influence who does not yet know You, and we ask for their salvation. Draw them by Your Spirit, convict them of sin, and reveal to them the love and forgiveness found in the cross. Save them, Lord, and make them new creations in Christ. For the one who struggles with swearing, grant him a transformed mouth that speaks grace. For our brother or sister who brought this request, grant wisdom to guard the tongue, strength to keep the eyes pure, and a renewed mind that dwells on Your truth. Wash away what is unhelpful and fill that space with Your Word, Your songs, and Your peace. Help us all to walk in obedience and holiness, keeping our thoughts captive to Christ. We ask all this in the precious and only saving name of Jesus Christ, amen.

We hear your heart in this, and how much you carry for others. You want so many people to know Jesus and be safe with Him, and you are also asking God for help in your own daily life, to have more peace and self control when you are out around others and when unwanted memories or songs come to mind.

It makes sense that when you care deeply and also feel on edge in public, your mind can get crowded. Wanting to keep things to yourself and not stare at others is a respectful desire, and wanting certain shows and sounds to fade from memory is an honest prayer for relief from thoughts that feel intrusive and sticky. God sees both the love you have for others and the pressure you feel inside.

One simple next step that helps many people with this kind of crowded thinking is to give each concern a single place with the Lord. You might write your list of people and worries down once as a prayer list, and when the same thought or tune returns, gently tell the Lord, I have given this to You already, help me rest in Your care today, and then turn your attention to what is in front of you. If these thoughts often feel stuck or distressing, it can also help to talk them through with a trusted pastor or counselor alongside prayer.

Father, we bring to You every person this friend has named and those whose names were left private, and ask for Your saving grace and drawing love in each life. We ask for Your peace over unwanted memories and sounds, and for help to walk calmly and kindly each day, keeping what should be kept private and showing respect to others. Your many petitions have been brought before the Lord, and there is much in them that is right and commendable, for you have shown a burden for souls and a desire for a clean heart and a watchful life.

It is good that you pray for the salvation of that woman, and of the three women and the child, and of that man, and of the man and woman in Ohio, and of all those whose names you have held before God, and for the people connected to them. Scripture teaches that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and that no man can see the kingdom except his eyes be opened by God. As it is written, God opened her eyes and she saw a well of water, and again, unless God opens your eyes you must still abide in the darkness of spiritual blindness. Your prayer that God would save them if they are in need of salvation is according to His will, for He alone can take the scales from the eyes as He did with Saul, and give faith which is to a man like new eyes. Continue to wait upon the Lord for them, for they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, and that little word, wait, is a word for those who have learned to look to sovereign grace. Pray that He will show them Christ, for if any eyes are truly turned to the Lord Jesus Christ they cannot but trust and love Him.

You also ask for help to keep things to yourself and to avoid staring at others while outside. This is a wise and watchful desire. The wise man advises, Let your eyes look right on and let your eyelids look straight before you. Have eyes and use them, and take care to use them honestly. To follow Christ is to walk a strait and narrow way of the denial of self, and it requires that we keep our eyes fixed straight before us upon Him, and bring our eyelids into use to close them to vanity. The eyes of servants look unto the hands of their masters, so our eyes wait upon the Lord our God until He has mercy upon us. Ask the Lord not only to restrain the outward gaze, but to cleanse the inward fountain, for the sin that dwells in us drags us down and we need daily that the blood of Christ should cleanse us from all sin. Self strength will fail, for pools which are not self supplied are always liable to be exhausted. Do not trust in self reliance to govern your tongue or your eyes, but throw yourself into the might and majesty of God and ask Him to keep your vineyard, lest you keep the vineyards of others and neglect your own.

Concerning the sounds and shows and songs that trouble your memory, and that which you wish to forget, I would point you not merely to an erasing of the past but to a renewing of the mind by being filled with better things. We cannot by our own will blot out what has entered the mind, but God can renew your strength and give you fresh work done to a nobler tune, with more expectancy and more God reliance. When God opens the eyes, He gives new objects to behold, and the old fancies lose their power as you behold Christ. Seek to plunge into the Godhead's deepest sea and to be borne up by grace, and pray that your affections may be ordered and your will inclined to that which is good, for without Christ we can do nothing. Instead of asking only that a memory be removed, ask that your mind be filled with the Word of God and with whatsoever is pure and lovely, so that Christ dwelling in you may put the former things out of dominion.

Let us pray together. O Lord, open the eyes of those for whom this soul has prayed, if they know Thee not, grant them to see the well of living water which is Christ Jesus, and take the scales from their eyes that they may behold Him and live. Grant to this one who prays a guarded tongue and wakeful and watchful eyes, that the gaze may be kept straight upon Christ and the lips kept from idle words, not by self strength but by Thy grace. Cleanse the mind and renew the heart, and cause the things that defile or distract to lose their hold, filling the memory with Thy truth. Keep us all waiting upon Thee until Thou hast mercy upon us, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
