We join you in prayer for the one you have lifted up and for all the people in that dear one's life, and we thank you for praying in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we can be saved.

We agree with you in asking for their salvation. It is the heart of God that none should perish but that all should come to repentance, as we read in 2 Peter 3:9, and that whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved according to Romans 10:13. We hold fast to the promise in Romans 10:9 that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved, and to Acts 4:12 which reminds us there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We pray that if this person and those connected to them do not yet know Jesus as Savior, the Holy Spirit will draw them, open their eyes to their need for Him, and bring them to repentance and faith.

We also join you in praying about the lyric that has been stuck in your mind and the desire to have it removed permanently. We understand how a song or a phrase can play over and over and become a distraction or even a burden. God calls us to guard our minds and to set our thoughts on what honors Him. We are taught in Philippians 4:8 to think on whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, and in 2 Corinthians 10:5 to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. In Psalm 119:11 we are reminded that hiding God's word in our hearts helps us to stay close to Him and to turn from what does not edify.

We pray together now. Heavenly Father, we lift up to You the one whom our friend has brought before You, though we do not know the name You know them fully. If they are in need of salvation, we ask that You draw them to Yourself, convict them of sin, reveal Your love through the cross of Jesus, and grant them the gift of repentance and faith. Save also the people in their life, their family and friends, that they too may come to know Jesus as Lord. Lord, we also ask that You cleanse and renew our friend's mind. In Jesus' name we ask You to remove this lyric, its title and its first line, and the other song that has lodged in their thoughts, and to replace it with Your peace and with thoughts that honor You. Fill their mind with Your Word and with songs that glorify You, for Colossians 3:16 calls us to let the word of Christ dwell in us richly. Give rest, clarity, and joy in You. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and only hope. Amen.

Thank you for sharing these requests with us. We hear your love for ### and for the people in their life, and your desire to see them know Jesus. That is a beautiful burden to carry, and we are glad to carry it with you in prayer.

We also hear how distracting it is to have those lyrics looping in your mind. It can feel frustrating when a line you do not want just keeps returning, even after you have asked God to take it away.

One thing that has helped others with stuck thoughts is not to fight the lyric head on, but to gently notice when it comes and then turn your attention to something you have chosen beforehand. It could be a simple prayer phrase, a hymn you love, or a small task that needs your focus for a few minutes. With practice, the mind learns there is another place to go.

We are praying with you for both of these needs.

Father, we lift ### and the people around them to You, asking for Your saving grace where it is needed and for You to draw each heart to Yourself in Your timing. We also ask for quiet and clarity for our friend, that those unwanted lyrics would fade and be replaced by what brings peace. Give rest and encouragement today. In Jesus name, amen.

We join you in this earnest intercession and count it a privilege to plead with you before the throne of grace. It is a great advance upon anxiety for our own salvation when we are risen into the broader region of care for another soul, and such prayer is communion with Christ Himself, for He ever lives to make intercession for us that all who come to God by Him may have certain and eternal salvation.

We pray with you for the one you have named and for all who are joined to that life, that the Lord in His sovereign mercy would grant them salvation through Jesus Christ alone. There is no other way, for the Scripture says, Look unto me and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth, and with the heart man believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Whoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed. We ask that the Father would draw each of them to see their need, to look to the one great atoning Sacrifice, and to receive that free salvation which is without money and without price, by divine grace through faith in Christ Jesus. Beside Him there is none else, and there is a sweet reasonableness in the provision of a Substitute for guilty men.

Concerning the lyrics that trouble your mind, we bring this also to the Lord whose thoughts concerning you are precious, numerous, tender and wise. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are His thoughts higher than your thoughts, and He is able to lift you into perfect peace as you wait upon Him. We ask Him to remove from your memory the title and first line you have mentioned and the other lyric that remains, and to cleanse that inward chamber. Some singers sing solemn words thoughtlessly, caring only for the music and not for the meaning, but the Lord would have us think upon His lovingkindness in the midst of His temple. Pray that He would fill your mind with better music, that the Word of Christ may dwell in you richly, and that when you awake you may still be with Him. When these vain words return, turn at once to hide His Word in your heart and to think upon whatsoever things are true and pure and lovely, for His thoughts become precious to us as we think upon them and they strengthen faith and stir the soul to love.

Therefore we will wait for Him, for He has made all these things and He hears those who plead according to His will by the help of the Holy Spirit who Himself makes intercession for the saints. May the Lord restore unto you the joy of His salvation, keep your thoughts stayed upon Him, and show His power to save to the uttermost those for whom you pray. We commend you and them into the hands of our great Intercessor, trusting His perfect wisdom and grace.

Let me love others withoit reservation. Let me judge not from person to person but give love no matter what. Help me have compassion. And be gentle. Lord. Not angry. Or mean. Or full of hatred.
