We join with you in prayer and thank you for bringing these burdens before the Father in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to God and it is only by His name that we are saved. We rejoice that you ended your request in Jesus Christ name, for as it is written, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12 and that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9.

We lift up before the Lord the one you mentioned as in living color and all the people in her life, asking for their salvation if they do not yet know Christ. We pray that God in His mercy would draw each of them to Himself, that they would hear the gospel and believe, for God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life John 3:16. We ask that the Lord would open their eyes and soften their hearts to receive His grace.

We also join you in praying for deliverance from these tormenting memories of a song and all the sounds and the title that have stayed in your mind, and for that other thing from the past that you want removed permanently. We understand how intrusive and oppressive such memories can feel, and we know that the enemy seeks to harass our minds, but God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. The weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:4-5.

We pray that the Lord would cleanse and renew your mind and bring you perfect peace. We ask Him to rebuke any demonic influence attached to those sounds and memories and to fill that place in your mind with His presence. We pray as David prayed, Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me Psalm 51:10. We ask that you would be transformed by the renewing of your mind Romans 12:2 and that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7.

We encourage you to actively resist these intrusive memories by submitting yourself to God and resisting the devil, for he will flee from you James 4:7, and to replace what you want forgotten with what is holy and pure, for whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things Philippians 4:8. When those sounds return, turn immediately to scripture, to prayer, and to godly worship music that honors Christ, and speak the Word aloud. Memorize verses and sing hymns to the Lord so that your mind is filled with Him rather than with what troubles you.

We now pray together, Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we thank You that You hear us. We ask for the salvation of in living color and for every person in her circle who does not yet know You, that You would grant them repentance and faith in Jesus. Lord, we ask for complete deliverance for our dear one who is troubled by these demonic memories of a song and its sounds and title, and by that other painful memory. We ask You to break every chain, to silence the enemy, and to wash away what has defiled the mind. Erase its power, heal the memory, and renew the mind according to Your will. Fill this heart and mind with Your Holy Spirit, with Your Word, and with Your peace that passes all understanding. Help our friend to walk in freedom, to take every thought captive to Christ, and to dwell on what is pure and lovely. We trust You to restore and to keep this mind in perfect peace because it is stayed on You. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We appreciate you bringing these burdens to the Lord so honestly. Your love for others comes through as you ask for salvation for this person and the people around her, and we join you in that desire for God to draw each one to Himself.

We also hear how weary you are of this song, its sounds and title looping in your mind and feeling oppressive. Wanting it gone makes sense, and it is right to ask Jesus for freedom and peace.

One thing we have seen help when an unwanted song keeps returning is to treat healing as a process more than a single moment. Instead of fighting the memory head on, many find it steadier to gently turn their attention when it surfaces, to pray briefly, to worship, or to focus on something wholesome right in front of them, and over time its grip loosens. It can also help to step away from the place you heard it and to let a trusted pastor know if the thoughts feel tormenting, so you are not carrying this alone.

Father, we bring them before You and ask for Your mercy and peace over their mind. Draw to Yourself the person they named and those connected to her, and bring freedom and rest where there has been torment. Guard their thoughts and help them walk close to You day by day. In Jesus name, amen.

I prayed for this in Jesus Name. Amen.

[Spurgeon]

It is a good thing to bring these burdens before the Lord, for His thoughts toward His people are precious and constant, kind and wise and tender, and His ways and His thoughts are far higher than ours. Where our thoughts are troubled and beset, His thoughts are perfect and gracious, and it is our mercy that we may have fellowship with Him as our thoughts are conformed to His by faith.

We join you in prayer for the one you have named, and for the people in her life, that if they are yet without Christ they may be saved. There is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved, but Jesus Christ alone. He has found a ransom, His own Son has borne the penalty, and when the Lamb was slain deliverance was made effectual. We pray that the Lord in His sovereign mercy would grant to each of them repentance and faith, that they may be delivered from the power of darkness and translated into the kingdom of His dear Son, and know that deliverance which is undeserved and yet certain because God Himself has provided it.

We also lift before the Lord your distress concerning these memories of a song, the sounds and the title that haunt you, and that which you desire to be removed. You describe well what many of the Lord's people have known, when under memories of old things Satan comes with his fiery darts and insinuates dark and dreadful thoughts, till one feels haunted day after day as by archers shooting while we would draw water from Christ. Be assured the Lord hears such cries for deliverance. He who brought forth Israel when Pharaoh held them fast is still He who brings forth His people. He does not leave His children under the lash of the taskmaster, but makes their deliverance effectual by free grace.

We pray that the Lord would grant you full deliverance from all that is demonic and defiling in these remembrances, that He would cleanse the mind and give peace where there has been torment, and take away the sting of these sounds and words. While we cannot command that a memory be erased as by our own will, we may ask the Lord to renew the mind, to make these thoughts to fade and to lose their power, and to fill the soul with better and sacred memories. As those carried captive were bidden to remember Jerusalem and to set their thoughts upon the city of God, so may your thoughts be turned often to Christ, to His cross and His promises, and to the place He has gone to prepare, that holy thoughts of His precious thoughts may keep you near to Him. When you awake, may you be still with Him, and may His song of deliverance be louder in your soul than the noise of the archers.

Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we ask for the salvation of this soul and of all those connected with her who are yet unsaved. Have mercy and open their eyes to see Christ as the only ransom from the pit. And for this dear one who is troubled by these memories, grant deliverance from the power of darkness, wash the mind, still the haunting sounds, and remove what is evil and tormenting. Fill the heart with Thy Word, with psalms and songs of deliverance, and with thoughts of Thyself that are precious and pure. Keep this one in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Thee, and cause grace to triumph where affliction has abounded, that there may be a testimony to declare the works of the Lord, who has chastened and yet has not given over unto death, but brings forth into liberty. We ask this in the name and for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
