We join you in lifting up this woman and the people in her life before the throne of grace, and we thank you for bringing this request in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him that anyone can be saved.
We share your heart for salvation, for God desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth, as we read in 1 Timothy 2:4. We are reminded that God is patient, not wanting anyone to perish but all to come to repentance in 2 Peter 3:9, and that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life in John 3:16. Scripture is clear that there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved in Acts 4:12, and that if we will confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved in Romans 10:9. So we pray for this dear woman, for all those connected to her, and for the other individual whose name was redacted and all those in her life, that if they have not yet put their faith in Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit would draw them, open their eyes, and bring them to repentance and saving faith. We ask the Lord to place believers in their paths to share the good news and to soften any hardened hearts.
We also join you in praying about the burden of memory and the request to remove two things from memory. We understand the desire to be free from painful or troubling thoughts, and we bring this before the Lord who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. We pray that God would bring His perfect peace that surpasses all understanding to guard hearts and minds in Christ Jesus as promised in Philippians 4:7. We ask that He would help each one to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ in 2 Corinthians 10:5 and to focus on whatever is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely and of good report in Philippians 4:8. Our God says I am He who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins in Isaiah 43:25, and as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us in Psalm 103:12. Where there is sin that needs forgiving, we pray for full forgiveness and cleansing through the blood of Jesus, and where there is pain or trauma that lingers in the mind, we pray for deep healing, for comfort, and for the ability to forgive as Christ forgave us and to walk in newness of life.
We pray together, Father, we lift up this woman and all the people in her life, and the other dear one whose name was redacted and all those in her life, and we ask that if any of them are in need of salvation, You would save them today by Your grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Draw them to Your Son, grant them repentance and faith, and make them new creations in Christ. For those who already know You, deepen their faith and use them as witnesses. And Lord, we ask for Your mercy regarding these two things that weigh on memory, we ask that You would remove what needs to be removed, heal what needs to be healed, and replace anxiety and painful recollection with Your peace, Your joy, and thoughts that honor You. Help them to remember Your faithfulness and to forget what would keep them in bondage. We trust Your perfect will and Your perfect timing, and we ask all of this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, amen.
