We join you in this prayer for deliverance and we thank you for calling upon the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father.
We understand how words from a song can lodge in the mind and heart and play over and over, and how troubling it can be when those words are not wholesome or uplifting. Music is powerful and what we allow into our ears can influence our thoughts and our spirit. The Word tells us in Psalm 101:3 I will set no vile thing before my eyes, and this applies also to what we set before our ears. We are called to guard our hearts and minds.
Scripture exhorts us to take control of our thoughts, as it says in 2 Corinthians 10:5 throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. We are also taught in Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things. When ungodly lyrics take hold, we are to replace them with what is true and pure.
God has given us a better song to fill our hearts with. Ephesians 5:19 says speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord. And Colossians 3:16 says Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to the Lord. As we fill our minds with the Word of God and with worship that honors Him, there is less room for anything that would trouble or defile us. Psalm 119:11 reminds us Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against you.

We ask in Jesus' name that You deliver our friend from this burden, that You wash these words from their mind and break their lingering power. Father, bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ and grant peace that passes understanding. Fill this heart and mind anew with Your Holy Spirit, with Your Word, and with psalms and hymns that glorify You. Help them to guard what they hear and to choose what is pure and lovely and true. Renew their mind according to Romans 12:2 and let their thoughts dwell on You. We thank You, Father, that You are our deliverer and our refuge. We trust in Your mercy and power to set us free. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

Your prayer for deliverance from words of music that cling to the mind is heard, and it is right to bring such a burden to the Lord who alone can keep the heart and cleanse the thoughts.
Let it never be forgotten that in all that God does, He acts from good reasons, and He has provided a way of deliverance that no man would have thought of. As it is written, He is gracious unto him, and says, Deliver him from going down to the Pit: I have found a ransom. Job 33:24. Nobody would have thought of that way of deliverance through a ransom if God had not thought of it, and He has not only invented the way but has found the ransom Himself. It is a gift of Divine Love in Christ Jesus, who is our redemption and our song.
There are words and melodies that fasten upon the soul as archers besetting the traveler, and the power of darkness can use even a tune to tempt and to trouble. Yet we are taught that deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin, and we must look to our heavenly Father altogether and alone for it. He has delivered us from the power of darkness, and He is able to deliver you from the fascinating power of that which now vexes you, to keep back your soul from the Pit and your life from perishing.
Therefore turn wholly from that music which ensnares you, and give your ear and your heart to better music. Deborah sang concerning the overthrow of Israel's enemies, and we have a far richer theme, for we have been delivered from worse enemies and saved by a greater salvation. Let our gratitude be deeper and let our song be more jubilant. When you are led out of this Egypt of vexation, your deliverance will be by Divine power, not by any easy work or hasty word of your own, for unless a supernatural power is put forth, any form of deliverance is worth nothing. He who brings forth His people does so with a mighty hand.

Your prayer for deliverance from words of music that have stayed in your mind has been heard, and I join you in bringing it before the Lord.
It is good that you have turned to the heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ, for He alone is able to deliver from evil and to supply what is good. Scripture teaches that through Christ we are delivered from the curse and brought into sonship, and that we receive the Spirit of adoption by which we cry to God as Father. That same Lord who delivered His servants from the mouth of the lion is able to deliver you not only from outward danger but from every evil work, cleansing the thoughts and guarding the heart.
I pray with you now. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, have mercy on this Your child. Wash away the words and images of this music that cling to the mind. Forgive what is impure, renew the thoughts, and fill the heart with Your peace. Grant the help of Your Holy Spirit, that what is heard and remembered may be what is true and pure and worthy of You. Give strength to turn away from what harms the soul and to delight in what builds it up. Deliver from every evil work and keep in Your grace, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

God is able to make even the dull and troubled mind steady, and He will not leave you without help as you seek Him.

Thank you for sharing this honest prayer. God hears you when you ask to be delivered from words that have stuck in your mind, and He is able to set you free.
Music has a way of staying with us. What we listen to plants itself deeply, and when our minds are not actively occupied, those words and melodies often come back on their own. That is why what we fill our minds with matters so much. If we continually take in what is corrupting or empty, it will return to us in quiet moments. If we fill our minds with what builds up and honors God, with worship and with His Word, then what returns to us will bring peace and strength instead.
Scripture describes the happy and stable person as one who does not walk in the counsel of the ungodly, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, thinking on it day and night. That person is like a tree planted by rivers of water, bearing fruit and remaining strong. The ungodly, by contrast, are like chaff that the wind blows away, with no stability and no standing in judgment. The Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly will perish. Turning aside from God's path always leads to grief, while staying on His path leads to life.
God also promises to preserve His people from trouble and to surround them with songs of deliverance, to instruct and teach them in the way they should go and to guide them with His eye. He does not want you to be haunted by words that pull you away from Him. He wants to replace them with His own truth and with songs that lift your heart toward Him.
I am praying for you in the name of Jesus Christ, that God will cleanse your mind from the words that are troubling you and fill that space with His peace. Ask Him to help you be careful about what you listen to and watch, and to deliberately choose what edifies.
