Your prayer has been laid before the Lord and we join you in holy intercession, for to plead for others is among the most precious gifts of grace and it shows a heart taught by God himself to love the souls of men.
We rejoice that you have asked first for their salvation, for this is the chief matter. There is a divine salvation, planned by the Father, purchased by the Son, and applied by the Holy Spirit, and there is no other way. Look unto him and be ye saved, for he is God and beside him there is none else. Whoever believes on him shall not be ashamed, for in his death he is the propitiation for sin and in his resurrection the justification of his people. If any among those of whom you speak are yet without Christ, we entreat the Lord that they may be brought to see that in their flesh there dwells no good thing, and that they must come to Jesus and believe on him alone. May the Spirit himself make intercession for them, for he helps our infirmities when we know not what we should pray for as we ought, and may they come to know that suitable salvation which is made on purpose for sinners, that they also may rejoice in thy salvation.
