We join you in lifting up these precious people before the throne of grace and we thank you for seeking the Lord in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is power and access in His name alone.
We are moved by your compassion for the elderly gentleman near you and for the older woman you know, and for all the people in their lives. It reflects the heart of our Savior who desires that none should perish. We stand with you in asking for healing and for salvation.
We pray together for the elderly man to the right side of the bed. We ask our Heavenly Father to touch his body with healing and to bless him with strength and good health according to His will. We remember the promise in Psalm 103:2-3, Praise Yahweh, my soul, and do not forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. And in James 5:15, The prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. We ask that if he does not yet know Jesus as Lord and Savior, that the Holy Spirit would draw him to repentance and faith while there is still time, and that the same mercy would extend to his family and friends.
We also lift up the older woman you know and all those connected to her life. Our God is a Savior who desires all people to be saved, as it is written in 1 Timothy 2:3-4, This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth. We pray that if she or any in her circle are in need of salvation, the Lord would open their eyes to the truth that in Romans 10:9, if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For as Acts 4:12 declares, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved.
We also join you in praying about the swearing where you are. The Lord cares about our speech because it reflects our hearts. We pray that the environment around you would be cleansed of corrupt and profane talk and that those around you would be convicted to speak with grace. We are reminded in Ephesians 4:29, Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear. And in Colossians 3:8, But now you also put them all away, anger, wrath, malice, slander, and filthy language out of your mouth. We pray that you would be a light there and that your own speech would continue to honor Christ.
Let us pray. Heavenly Father, we come before You together in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We lift up this dear elderly man to You, ask for Your healing hand upon him, comfort him, restore his health as You will, and above all save his soul and the souls of his loved ones if they have not yet believed. We lift up this older woman and all the people in her life, Lord save them, draw them to Your Son, grant them repentance and faith. We ask that You would bring laborers across their paths to share the gospel. Father, we also ask that You would set a guard over the lips of those at the place mentioned, that swearing would cease and that wholesome, gracious words would be spoken instead. Let Your peace reign there. We thank You that You hear us when we pray in Jesus name. We trust Your perfect will and Your perfect love. Amen.
