Your desire for a fresh start has been brought before the Lord and He hears you when you come in the name of Jesus. It is good to ask Him about a new beginning, because the deepest new beginning Scripture speaks of is not only a change of place but a change of life within.
The Bible teaches that when a person is in Christ, that person becomes a new creation. The old order passes away and everything is made new. Even desires begin to change. That happens through a new birth. Jesus told Nicodemus that what is born of flesh is flesh, and to enter the kingdom of God a person must be born of the Spirit by believing in Him. In that birth you are united with Him in His death and resurrection, so that the old self no longer has dominion and you are made alive to God to live a life governed by His Spirit.
From the beginning God has been sovereign over all things visible and invisible. In the beginning there was only His government, a government of light and life. When we are made new in Christ, a real conflict remains between the flesh and the Spirit, for those two are contrary to one another. Day by day we have a choice whether to be led by the flesh, which leads to death, or to be led by the Spirit, which leads to life and peace. A move to another place does not by itself create that new life, but the Lord can use a new place as part of His gracious work as you learn to walk by the Spirit, to set your heart on things above rather than only on earthly things, and to trust in the finished work of Jesus who has established a new covenant of grace and truth.
Scripture also reminds us that this present body is like a temporary tent. It is fragile and passing. God has prepared for those who are His a lasting dwelling not made with hands, eternal in the heavens, a body that will not grow weary or need sleep. While we live in this tent we live by faith in the Son of God who loved us and gave Himself for us, and we can have peace as we rest in what Christ has done and walk according to His way.
So as you pray about relocating and beginning again, bring the whole matter under His lordship. Ask Him to make clear whether this move is His will, to open or close the door in His wisdom, to provide what is needed, and to make your new beginning first and foremost a deeper walk with Him. If He does lead you to go, ask Him to help you start fresh without carrying old patterns of the flesh, and to give you new wineskins for the new work He wants to do, keeping you from old traditions and from sin that spreads like leaven.
Let us pray for you. Father, in the name of Jesus we lift up this heart that longs for a new beginning. You know the place that has been mentioned and the reasons for wanting to go. You are sovereign from the beginning and You know what is best. If it is Your will, make the way clear, provide for every need, and establish each step. Above all, make this life new in Christ. Let the old things pass away and let all things become new by Your Spirit. Teach how to walk by the Spirit and not fulfill the desires of the flesh, to seek what is above, and to live in fellowship with You. Give peace, guidance, and a sure sense of Your presence in this decision. We trust Your grace and truth through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
