We join you in lifting up this young man and those in his life, earnestly seeking the Lord’s mercy and grace upon them. Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts burdened for souls who may not yet know the saving power of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Your Word declares, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16). We pray that this truth would pierce the hearts of this man and those around him, drawing them to repentance and faith in Christ alone.
Lord, we ask that You would open their eyes to see their need for a Savior. The Bible warns, "There is a way which seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death" (Proverbs 14:12). May they recognize the emptiness of life without You and turn from sin to embrace the forgiveness and new life found only in Jesus. We rebuke any deception or hardness of heart that would keep them from surrendering to You, and we plead for Your Holy Spirit to convict them of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8).
For those in his life, family, friends, or acquaintances, we pray that You would surround them with godly influences who will reflect Your love and truth. May they encounter believers who live out their faith authentically, so that they might see the hope and joy found in Christ. "Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven" (Matthew 5:16).
Father, we also lift up any areas where this man or those around him may be entangled in sin, whether it be unforgiveness, addiction, sexual immorality, or idolatry. Your Word commands us to "flee from sexual immorality" (1 Corinthians 6:18) and to "put to death whatever belongs to [our] earthly nature" (Colossians 3:5). We pray for deliverance from these bondages and for a hunger to walk in holiness.
Above all, we ask that You would draw them to Yourself. Jesus said, "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him" (John 6:44). We trust in Your sovereign grace to save, and we ask that You would do a mighty work in their lives. May they confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts that You raised Him from the dead, for "with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation" (Romans 10:9-10).
We pray for protection over their minds and hearts, that the enemy would not steal the seed of Your Word before it can take root. "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full" (John 10:10). Guard them from doubt, distraction, and the lies of the world.
Lord, we also ask that You would prepare the hearts of those who may share the Gospel with them. Give them boldness, wisdom, and compassion as they speak truth in love. May the message of salvation be proclaimed clearly and received eagerly.
We commit this man and his loved ones into Your hands, trusting that You are faithful to complete the work You have begun in them. May they come to know You not just as Savior, but as Lord of their lives, walking in obedience and joy. The burden of soul for another’s salvation is not a natural weed of the heart, it is a rare plant of heavenly origin, set there by the Holy Spirit. When you pray, “Heavenly Father, pls kindly save a guy if he is in need of salvation,” you are touching the hem of the great Intercessor’s garment. This is no small thing. The Spirit helps our infirmities, but mark well: His intercession within the saints is the fruit of indwelling grace. The unregenerate know nothing of such groanings. Your prayer itself, if it springs from a renewed heart, is a whisper of the Spirit’s own making.
Yet salvation is no uncertain hope, dangling upon a mere “if.” The Scripture lays one foundation: “Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth.” There is no salvation anywhere but in Christ Jesus. Not in priestly rites, not in moral amendments, not in a bare recitation of a form, only in a living trust upon Him who gave His life a ransom for many. Christ’s death did not hang upon the thread of man’s will, as if He died to secure the salvation of nobody in particular. No, His redemption is particular, plenteous, and complete, not a hoof left behind for all His chosen. Whatever His design in dying, that design cannot be frustrated.
Continue, then, in this intercession, but let it press you to plain speech. All men are approachable at some time. If you desire this man’s salvation, tell him, as best you can, what his condition is and where the remedy lies. Leave the whole matter of his soul with God in unquestioning confidence, yet urge faith upon him. The way is simple: whoever believes on Christ shall not be ashamed. Pray without ceasing, but speak as you pray. God who writes the prayer upon your heart means to use your tongue as well.

It is a good and right thing to pray for the salvation of another, for you do well to entrust that man and those in his life to the mercy of God. He is the One who said, "Lest at any time they should be converted, and I should heal them," not to shut the door, but to show that if they turn, He will certainly heal. So your prayer aligns with His own heart. Yet see to it that as you make this request, you yourself do not become a hindrance. If you lift up holy hands while nursing wrath or remembering wrongs, you do not build up; you tear down the work of God over a trivial thing. How will you obtain mercy if at the very time you plead for another you provoke the Lord with bitterness? Let go of every resentment, that your prayer may be pure.
Remember that Christ ever lives to make intercession; He is able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him. Not as the priests of old who died and could no longer aid, but our High Priest remains forever, so He can help all. And you, too, are called not merely to speak words but to become an instrument of that salvation. Do not cast the whole burden onto your teachers or pastors; you also can edify one another. Watch carefully that your own life does not become a root of bitterness that springs up and defiles many, for the salvation of others depends in part on your example. Suffer small inconveniences and forgive freely, that you may win others to eternal life. Now is the acceptable time, now is the day of salvation. Your prayer is intercession, and it rests on something real. Jesus ever lives to make intercession for all who come to God through him, so when you ask the Father to save this man and the people in his life, you are asking for the very thing Christ himself is doing before the Father. Do not let the burden become worry or despair. Salvation is near. It is not a distant prize we must climb to reach. It is as close as a mouth that confesses Jesus as Lord and a heart that believes God raised him from the dead. The name Jesus means the Lord is salvation, and he came to save his people from their sins.
Keep asking that God would open their eyes and turn their hearts. Prayer for the lost flows from love, and God uses that love. But remember that now is the day of salvation. If this man is still breathing, the opportunity has not passed. Jesus is able to save to the uttermost those who come to God by him, and he will never cast out anyone who truly comes. We do not work for this salvation. We rest in the finished work of Christ on the cross. No human effort can add to what he has done.
