Your prayer for this woman and the people in her life is a powerful act of intercessory love. More things are moved and shaped by such hidden faithfulness than we will ever fully see. God delights when we stand in the gap for those who do not yet know Him, and no prayer that pleads for salvation is ever wasted.
Salvation itself is always a gift. It does not come by human effort, by the length of a prayer, or by any work on our part; it is given through faith in Jesus Christ alone. When a soul cries out, “God, be merciful to me, a sinner,” that opens the door to everything. So you are asking the Lord to do what He deeply desires to do, to draw her and those around her into the safety of His grace. And while God will not override anyone’s will, your prayer creates a space where His Spirit can work with new power, softening hearts and making ready the soil.
Keep on praying, and do not lose heart. The persistent prayer of a righteous person is effective. You might feel at times that the answer is delayed, but often the Lord is aligning circumstances and preparing hearts to come into harmony with His purpose. Remember how Hannah poured out her soul year after year, and then walked away with her face no longer sad, trusting that God had heard. Your intercession may be the very means He uses to bring this woman and her people to the moment of decision.
Continue in prayer, watching with thanksgiving. Let your heart rest in the certainty that God wishes for all to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. As you lift them up, you are partnering with His redemptive will, and the outcome is in His faithful hands. Be encouraged, for your prayers are not falling on deaf ears. Heaven is listening.
