It is a blessed thing when the saints lift up their hearts in intercession for souls, and I rejoice that you have brought this petition to the Lord, seeking salvation for those unknown to you by name but known to God. The prayer of a righteous man availeth much, and when we plead for others, we stand upon the holiest ground, even the place where our great High Priest continually maketh intercession. Think not that your cry is weak or unheard; the sweetest incense before the throne is that which rises from a heart burdened for the spiritual good of others.
Yet ever remember that salvation is of the Lord. It hangs not upon the will of man, but upon the sovereign grace of God. None can come to Christ except the Father draw them, and this truth should drive us to our knees, not to despair, but to earnest, persistent pleading. When you pray, "Heavenly Father, kindly save," you are striking the very chord that awakens divine mercy. He delighteth to hear such prayers because they look to Him alone, even as Simeon beheld the infant Christ and saw God's salvation, full, free, and from above. Go on, then, and let your faith take hold of the promise, for He hath said, "I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people."
In your request, you also commit the matter of this place, these "dance moms," to the will of God. That is right and wise. We must ever bow beneath that sweet necessity, saying, "If the Lord wills." All our steps are ordered by Him, and nothing befalls His children but what He permits or ordains for good. Yet do not let an outward submission quench the fervency of your intercession. Rather, let the very sense of need become a spur. When you feel that inward craving, that burden of soul, it is often the harbinger of coming showers of blessing. Pray on, even when you seem not to prevail. Cry unto God with your voice; spread before Him the needs of those two souls, and plead His own Word: "Thou saidst, I will surely do thee good." Use the arguments that flow from Calvary, the blood of His dear Son, and wrestle as Jacob did until the day break.
And while you intercede, put yourself entirely at God’s disposal. He may use you as an instrument to speak a word in season, to show kindness, or to live Christ before them. Intercessory prayer fits us for service; it sharpens our sympathy and knits our hearts to those we bring before the Lord. Trust that the salvation which is real, constant, and divine from first to last, can reach even those who as yet have no thought of their need. The deepest darkness is just before the dawn, and the sound of abundance of rain is often heard first in the sighings of a single believer. Be not weary; the Lord will answer in His time, and His name shall be glorified.
