We hear your cry for help during this time of fasting, and we stand with you in seeking God’s strength and provision. Fasting is a powerful spiritual discipline, but it can also be a time of great struggle, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. We want to encourage you that the Lord sees your sacrifice and honors your desire to draw nearer to Him.

The Bible tells us in Isaiah 58:6-9 (WEB), "Isn’t this the fast that I have chosen: to release the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke? Isn’t it to distribute your bread to the hungry, and that you bring the poor who are cast out to your house? When you see the naked, that you cover him; and that you not hide yourself from your own flesh? Then your light will break out as the morning, and your healing will appear quickly; then your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of Yahweh will be your rear guard. Then you will call, and Yahweh will answer; you will cry, and he will say, ‘Here I am.’" Fasting is not just about abstaining from food, it is about humbling ourselves before God, seeking His face, and aligning our hearts with His will. If you are struggling, remember that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).

We also want to gently remind you that fasting should be done with the right heart posture. Jesus warned in Matthew 6:16-18 (WEB), "Moreover when you fast, don’t be like the hypocrites, with sad faces. For they disfigure their faces, that they may be seen by men to be fasting. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward. But you, when you fast, anoint your head, and wash your face; so that you are not seen by men to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret, and your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you." If your fasting is becoming a burden rather than a blessing, it may be time to examine whether you are fasting for the right reasons, out of love for God, not out of obligation or for the approval of others.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister who is fasting and seeking Your face. Lord, we ask that You strengthen them in their weakness. When they feel faint, remind them that Your grace is sufficient, and Your power is made perfect in their weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Father, we pray that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit, giving them supernatural endurance and clarity of mind. Help them to fix their eyes on You, the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2). Lord, if there is any area of their heart that is not fully surrendered to You, reveal it to them and give them the courage to repent and turn fully toward You.

We also ask, Father, that You would guard their heart and mind from discouragement or despair. Remind them that You are their provider, their strength, and their shield. When they feel overwhelmed, let them hear Your voice saying, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). Lord, we declare that this fast is not in vain. You are moving in their life, even when they cannot see it. We trust that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).

Finally, Father, we ask that You would deepen their relationship with You through this time. Let them experience Your presence in a fresh and powerful way. May this fast draw them closer to You and align their will with Yours. We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who intercedes for us at Your right hand. Amen.

If you are fasting for a specific reason, whether it be for breakthrough, repentance, guidance, or healing, we encourage you to continue pressing into the Lord. Write down the promises He has given you in His Word and declare them over your life. Remember, the enemy may try to discourage you, but greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Stand firm in your faith, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9).

If you are struggling with physical weakness, be sure to drink plenty of water and rest when needed. Fasting is not about punishing your body but about disciplining your spirit. If you feel led, you may also consider a partial fast (such as giving up certain foods or meals) rather than a complete fast, especially if you have health concerns. The key is to seek the Lord with a sincere heart.

Keep pressing in, dear one. The Lord is with you, and He will not leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6).

We’re with you in spirit as you undertake this fast, and we’re asking the Lord to sustain you in it. Fasting can be a beautiful way to quiet all the noise and direct your full attention toward God, but we also know it can bring moments of real struggle, whether physical hunger, mental distraction, or just a sense of dryness. You’re not weak for finding it hard; you’re human, and your dependence on God in that very place is a gift.

A practical thought: listen to your body, and be wise. If at any point you feel unwell or if you have underlying health concerns, it’s not a failure of faith to pause and speak to a doctor. God cares for your whole person, body and soul. In the meantime, when the fast feels heavy, try turning a simple breath into a prayer: “Lord, I need You” or “Jesus, help me.” Those small whispers keep your heart tethered to Him without requiring grand words.

Please know you’re not doing this alone, others are praying for you right now. Lord Jesus, we lift up this dear person to You. You see the desire behind their fast and every hidden need. Give them steady strength when they feel emptied, quiet confidence when doubt creeps in, and a tangible awareness of Your nearness. Protect their health and deepen their trust in You through each hour. May this fast draw them closer than they’ve ever been, not because they performed it perfectly, but because You faithfully meet them in the hidden place. In Your strong name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You do well to cry out for help during your fast, for it is when we feel our own weakness that we learn to lean wholly upon the Lord. All strength apart from God is derived strength and is, consequently, measurable, yes, apart from God it is not strength at all. But those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. Let this promise be fulfilled to your faith even now, for He is faithful that promised.

Your prayer is itself a proof of faith, for he who asks for faith must have some faith, or he would not ask at all. Yet that very faith needs increase. The nearer you live to God, the more you will desire that your faith should be increased. Cry still, “Lord, increase our faith,” and know that when you find yourself in trouble, you do well to betake yourself to prayer. Peter began to sink, and what did Peter do? Peter prayed, “Lord, save me.” Little faith knows where her strength lies. It is not the strength of your faith that saves, but the strength of that gracious hand stretched out to catch you. If you believe in Christ with all your heart, He will hold you fast.

Fasting lays bare our dependency. We glory in our powerlessness, because the power of Christ rests upon us. Sham faith soon yields to the enemy, but real faith wins the victory over the world, over the flesh, over every fiery dart of the wicked. Take the shield of faith above all, for faith preserves from all sorts of enemies. Let this faith be a living union with Christ, not merely the stone leaning on the foundation, but the branch drawing life from the tree. His life flows into us, so that we can truly say, “I live, yet not I, but Christ liveth in me.” Its source is not in ourselves, but in love eternal, love to the unworthy.

Go forward, then, expecting the Lord to strengthen you with strength in your soul. Jehovah Rophi can brace up every trembling member of your spiritual frame. Let your weakness drive you deeper into the Godhead’s deepest sea, to be borne up by grace. And as your strength is renewed, let it breed a strength of expectation, that you may grasp what God is prepared to give, rising height upon height, nearer and nearer to your God.

Fasting is a good work, but its power comes not from the belly but from the heart. Terrible is the passion of vainglory, and it creeps even into fasting: take care that you do not fast to be seen by others, for then you gain nothing. The true fast is not merely abstinence from food, but the putting away of luxury and a humble spirit. He that fasts without almsgiving is worse than a glutton and a drunkard, for cruelty is a more grievous thing than luxury. When you control your appetite but neglect the poor, your fast is not counted as fasting at all. Even if you practice virginity or great self-denial, you are cast outside the bridechamber if you have no mercy. None of us can be rescued from hell without the help of the poor.

Therefore, while you fast, let your prayers be joined with almsgiving, for that gives them wings. He that prays with fasting is light and winged, more vehement than fire, and rises above the earth. Nothing is mightier than a man who prays sincerely. If your body is too weak to fast continually, still you can avoid luxurious living and control the belly, and even this quenches the devil’s madness. Do not limit prayer to certain times of the day; pray without ceasing, with perseverance like the widow who by importunity prevailed, or the Canaanite woman who, though called a dog, would not let go until she received mercy. Even if you feel unworthy, your very shamelessness in pressing your request may call forth the Lord’s compassion.

Yet know that if you purify your soul during these forty days and then defile it again by greed or neglect, all your labor is wasted. You wash a place for precious ointment, then throw dung upon it, and the fine odor vanishes. So let your fasting be a time not only of self-denial but of love, so that your prayers and alms go up for a memorial before God, and no cruel passion makes you heavier than you were before. Cry out, "Help me," and He will hear, but surrender also your heart entirely.

The cry for help during a fast is a deep and honest one, and it comes right from the place where God loves to meet us. When you set aside food, you are not trying to earn an answer or twist God's arm. The real value in a fast is not the mechanics of going without, but in that quiet, intentional turning of your heart toward Him. And your simple prayer, "help me," is the very essence of that. It is the recognition that your own strength is not enough, and that is the truest kind of prayer.

So often we think of fasting as a way to get something from God, but it is better understood as a way to get ourselves out of the way so we can rely on Him alone. It is not a self-help program or a religious obligation. It is, at its heart, an act of coming to the end of your own resources. Just as Paul stopped asking how he could fix himself and finally cried out for outside help, your fast is a time to stop striving and start trusting. The help you need does not come from your own willpower; it flows from the Lord who is your Strength.

As you continue, make sure your fast is wrapped in prayer. It is not just an empty stomach but a focused spirit that changes things. Tell the Lord you cannot do it. Tell Him what you are weak and needy for. When your mind feels scattered or your body feels faint, let that be a signal not to reach for a distraction, but to speak to Him again. He will not let you down. He is your Defense and your High Tower, and He is far more eager to supply His strength than you are to ask for it.

Guard against the thought that a successful fast is about how strictly you keep the rules. If you find yourself getting irritable or argumentative, that is the very moment to ask for more grace, not to feel you have failed. The purpose is not a show for anyone else, or even a test for yourself. The purpose is a cleansed and obedient heart, one that breaks the hold of lesser things so it can be an instrument of His love. Let this time be a quiet, private season where you wait upon Him, and you will find that His promise is true. Through Him, we shall do valiantly. Let your heart take its confidence there, and may He be your strength and your portion today.
