We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear soul who is crying out for deliverance from demonic possession. The very fact that this request has been made in the name of Jesus Christ is a powerful declaration, one that the forces of darkness cannot withstand. We stand on the authority of Scripture, which tells us in James 4:7, "Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you." The name of Jesus is not a mere incantation; it is the highest authority in heaven and on earth, and at His name, every knee must bow (Philippians 2:10).
First, we must address the reality of spiritual warfare. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly. Demonic possession is a severe form of spiritual oppression, and we do not take it lightly. However, we also recognize that the power of Christ is greater than any darkness. In Luke 10:19, Jesus says, "Behold, I give you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will in any way hurt you." This authority is not just for the disciples of old, it is for all who belong to Christ.
We rebuke every demonic spirit that has taken hold of this individual. In the name of Jesus, we command you to loose your grip and flee! You have no authority here, for this child of God is covered by the blood of Jesus. We declare that this person is sealed by the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13) and that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). The Lord is their refuge and fortress; in Him, they trust (Psalm 91:2).
Now, we pray for complete deliverance and restoration. Heavenly Father, we ask that You send Your angels to encamp around this precious one, to break every chain, and to set them free from every snare of the enemy. We pray that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in the light of Your truth and never again be entangled by darkness. Lord, we ask that You renew their mind (Romans 12:2) and restore their joy, for the joy of the Lord is their strength (Nehemiah 8:10). May they wake each morning with hope, looking forward to the plans You have for them, plans for peace and not for evil, to give them a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).
We also pray for spiritual discernment and wisdom. Father, reveal to them any areas of their life where they may have unknowingly opened doors to the enemy. Show them any sin, unforgiveness, or ungodly ties that need to be severed. Lead them to repentance and to a deeper relationship with You. We pray that they would put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) so that they may stand firm against the schemes of the devil.
Lord, we ask that You surround this individual with godly believers who can walk alongside them in their journey of faith. May they find a church family that will pray for them, encourage them, and hold them accountable. We pray that they would be rooted and grounded in Your Word, for Your Word is a lamp to their feet and a light to their path (Psalm 119:105).
Finally, we declare that this person is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37). They are not defined by their past or by the attacks of the enemy. They are a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17), and their future is bright with the hope of eternity with You. We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness and for the victory that is already theirs in Jesus’ name.
We continue to stand in the gap for this dear one, trusting that the Lord will complete the good work He has begun in them (Philippians 1:6). May they walk in freedom, in victory, and in the fullness of life that Christ died to give them. Amen.
