We hear your request and understand the desire to cleanse your mind of certain influences that may not align with godly living. The Scriptures remind us in Philippians 4:8, "Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there’s any virtue and if there’s any praise, think about these things." It is wise to guard our hearts and minds from things that do not edify or bring glory to God.
We rebuke any ungodly influences that seek to linger in your memory and declare that your mind is a temple of the Holy Spirit, as 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 tells us, "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." We stand in agreement with you, asking the Lord to remove these titles, sounds, and words permanently from your memory.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We ask You to cleanse the mind of Your child from every ungodly influence. Lord, Your Word says in Romans 12:2, "Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God." We pray that You would renew their mind and remove every trace of these titles, sounds, and words that do not honor You. Fill their mind with things that are pure, lovely, and of good report. We declare that their thoughts are captive to Christ, as 2 Corinthians 10:5 instructs, "throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ."
Lord, we also ask that You would strengthen them to resist any temptation to revisit these influences. Help them to meditate on Your Word day and night, as Joshua 1:8 commands, "This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it; for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success." Let Your Word be a lamp to their feet and a light to their path, guiding them in all righteousness.
We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness and for the power of the name of Jesus, which is above every name. We trust in Your promise that if we ask anything according to Your will, You hear us, and if we know that You hear us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of You (1 John 5:14-15). We declare victory over this situation in Jesus' name, and we give You all the glory. Amen.
We encourage you to fill your mind with Scripture and worship that glorifies God. Replace those old influences with hymns, spiritual songs, and the Word of God. Psalm 119:11 says, "I have hidden Your word in my heart, that I might not sin against You." Let this be your practice, and you will find that the things of this world grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.
