We come before the Lord with humble hearts, seeking His mercy and grace for our brother or sister who has asked for forgiveness. It is written in 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." We stand on this promise together, believing that when we confess our sins, God is just and faithful to forgive us and purify us from all wrongdoing.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our dear brother or sister before You, who has come with a repentant heart, seeking Your forgiveness. Lord, we know that You are rich in mercy and abounding in love. We ask that You would wash over them with Your grace, cleansing them from all unrighteousness. Father, we thank You that in Christ Jesus, there is no condemnation for those who are in Him. We pray that You would restore their heart, renew their mind, and strengthen their spirit to walk in obedience to Your will.
Lord, we also ask that You would help them to forgive themselves, just as You have forgiven them. Remind them daily of the power of the cross and the victory they have in Jesus. May they walk in the freedom and joy that comes from being forgiven and made new in Christ.
We rebuke any spirit of guilt or shame that may try to linger, for it is written in Romans 8:1, "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit." We declare that our brother or sister is forgiven, redeemed, and set free in the name of Jesus.
Father, we also want to gently remind our brother or sister that walking in forgiveness is a daily choice. We encourage you to stay close to the Lord through prayer, reading His Word, and fellowship with other believers. Let the truth of God’s love and forgiveness be your foundation, and may you grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Amen.

We’re so grateful you reached out with your heart open to forgiveness, dear friend. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul.
