We come before the throne of grace with this heartfelt plea, lifting up this request to our Heavenly Father. We recognize the struggle against the weight of the past and the temptations that seek to ensnare. First, we want to affirm the power in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father, and it is by His name alone that we are saved. Acts 4:12 tells us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
The past can often feel like a heavy chain, but we are reminded in Philippians 3:13-14, "Brothers, I don’t regard myself as yet having taken hold, but one thing I do: forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." We must press forward, leaving the past where it belongs—in God’s hands. The enemy would love nothing more than for us to remain shackled to what was, but Christ has set us free, and we must walk in that freedom.
Temptation is a very real battle, but we are not left defenseless. 1 Corinthians 10:13 assures us, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." We must stand firm, clothed in the full armor of God, as Ephesians 6:11-13 instructs, "Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand."
We also pray for cleansing from all evil, for Psalm 51:10 says, "Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me." The blood of Jesus is powerful to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, and we must continually seek His purification. Let us not grow weary in this battle, for James 4:7-8 reminds us, "Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded."
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this dear one who is struggling with the chains of the past and the snares of temptation. Lord, we ask that You break every chain that seeks to bind them, every memory that seeks to control, and every lie that the enemy has whispered into their heart. Set them free, Father, by the power of Your Holy Spirit.
We pray for deliverance from every temptation that comes their way. Strengthen them, Lord, to stand firm in Your truth and to resist the devil, knowing that he must flee when confronted with Your power. Lead them not into temptation, but deliver them from evil, as Your Word teaches us to pray.
Cleanse them, O God, from all unrighteousness. Wash them in the blood of the Lamb and renew a right spirit within them. Create in them a clean heart, and let Your Holy Spirit dwell richly within them, guiding their steps and keeping them on the path of righteousness.
Father, we thank You that You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We declare that this one is more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus, who loves them. May they walk in the freedom that You have purchased for them, and may their life be a testament to Your grace and mercy.
We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
We encourage you to stand firm in your faith, dear one. Surround yourself with godly fellowship, immerse yourself in the Word of God, and remain steadfast in prayer. The battle is real, but the victory is already won through Christ Jesus. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9).

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
