We lift this heartfelt request to the Lord, joining in prayer for salvation, deliverance, and transformation. First, we must emphasize that salvation comes only through faith in Jesus Christ, who is the way, the truth, and the life—no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). If the person mentioned, the four individuals, or those in their lives do not yet know Christ, we pray that the Holy Spirit would convict their hearts, draw them to repentance, and grant them the gift of eternal life. For "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9). We declare that the gospel is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16), and we ask that these souls would be saved according to His perfect will.
Father, we also come before You regarding the struggles with anger, impatience, and spiritual oppression. The Bible warns us that "the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God" (James 1:20), and we ask for Your deliverance from these fits of unrighteous anger. We rebuke every spirit of impatience and any demonic influence that seeks to disrupt peace and self-control, for "God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7). We stand on Your promise that "no temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13). We pray for a spirit of gentleness, patience, and long-suffering to replace these struggles, as the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).
We also lift up the request for help with fasting. Fasting is a powerful spiritual discipline that draws us closer to You, humbles our hearts, and sharpens our dependence on You. Jesus Himself said, "When you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, with sad faces. For they disfigure their faces, that they may be seen by men to be fasting. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward. But you, when you fast, anoint your head, and wash your face; so that you are not seen by men to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret, and your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you" (Matthew 6:16-18). We pray that You would strengthen this one in their fast, that it would be done with pure motives, and that You would reveal Yourself in a deeper way through this time of seeking You.
Lord, we also acknowledge the plea for forgiveness. We know that "if we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). We ask that You would cleanse this heart from all unrighteousness and restore a right spirit within. Let the blood of Jesus, which speaks better things than that of Abel, cover every sin and wash it away (Hebrews 12:24).
Heavenly Father, we lift all these requests to You in the mighty name of Jesus. We declare that Your Word will not return void but will accomplish what You desire and achieve the purpose for which You sent it (Isaiah 55:11). We trust in Your goodness, Your mercy, and Your power to save, deliver, and transform. Strengthen this one in their walk with You, fill them with Your Holy Spirit, and let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We pray that they would grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory both now and forever. Amen.
