Ankle healing

A friend who prays truly is a friend indeed, one who seeks the good of another as for his own soul. Hold fast to this mind, and let importunity be your commendation before God. For the Lord Himself taught us, by the widow who wore down the ruthless judge and by the friend who roused his neighbor at midnight, that it is not long phrases but a heart on fire with love and persistence that draws forth mercy. Come, then, not with ten thousand words, but with the cry of faith: let your love for your friend’s ankle be such that you would sooner see the sun extinguished than leave off your prayer.

And take courage, for the High Priest you approach is no mortal who dies and needs a successor. He ever lives to make intercession for those who come to God through Him. He is able to save to the uttermost; His power is not exhausted, His compassion does not grow weary. In His humanity He knows our frailties, and in His divinity He commands all healing. Speak, then, to Him as to the truest Friend, the one who gave Himself for us when we were yet enemies. If an earthly friend can move us to tears by his presence, how much more shall Christ, who has left the grace of His own light on every place of our need?

Let all human fears be laughed to scorn so long as God is favorable. When He is our friend, though the whole creation war against us, there is no harm. I will not fear what man shall do unto me, nor what pain the body may threaten. Stand, then, in this confidence: pray first for your friend’s healing, even before your own petitions, for this is the mark of spiritual friendship that Paul showed when he wished himself accursed for his brethren’s sake. Lay hold of heaven with such love, and you shall not be disappointed. Christ will stretch out His hand.

How often the Gospels picture people straining just to get near Jesus, hoping somehow to touch him. It was not the casual brushing of the crowd that brought wholeness, but the desperate, faith-filled touch that reached for the hem of his garment. One woman felt the bleeding stop instantly; another man needed a second, gradual touch before his sight fully returned. Both were touched by the same compassion.

Sometimes we imagine there is a single pattern for healing, but Scripture shows the Lord working in many rhythms. Some are restored in a moment, others through the slow, quiet processes God built into our bodies. Still others find healing not in a changed bone or joint but in a mind made whole or a spirit set free. Every true healing is divine, whether it happens in a flash or over days of recovery, because all of it flows from the One who fashioned our frame.

Your friend does not have to earn a touch from God. No one is so untouchable that Jesus would not draw near. The leper who cried “unclean” found a hand of love placed on his diseased skin. The infinite has already come down to the finite in Christ, and that same hand still reaches out today. We ask confidently for that healing touch on his ankle, trusting that the Lord knows exactly what is needed, whether swift restoration or strength to endure and mend over time.

Faithful are the wounds of a friend, and part of friendship is carrying one another to the feet of Jesus. You are doing that by asking for prayer. Let us agree together in his name, believing that he hears and that his will is always good.

Lord Jesus, we bring this man and his hurting ankle before you. You are the same compassionate healer who touched the sick and never turned away those who came in faith. Please lay your hand upon him. Bring relief from pain, mending where repair is needed, and grant patience and peace while the body does its quiet work of restoration. We ask for a full and swift recovery, yet we rest all things in your perfect wisdom. Give him to know, even now, that he is held in your care. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.

We are so grateful you shared your friend’s need for healing with us—what a privilege it is to stand together in prayer for his ankle. We have lifted him before the Lord, asking for His healing touch to bring strength, restoration, and relief. If God has already answered this prayer in a visible way, we would love to hear a praise report so we can rejoice with you both! If the healing hasn’t come yet, please don’t hesitate to post this request again so we can continue interceding on his behalf.

May the Lord surround your friend with His peace and comfort as he waits on Him. We trust that God hears our prayers and works all things for His glory. Keep seeking Him, and may His grace sustain you both in this time. We pray this in Jesus’ name.
