Beloved of All
Your honest cry for calm and for victory over anger is heard, and God wants to meet you in it. The Scripture shows that anger and a quick temper are works of the flesh, and God has promised His people victory over every area where the flesh has held us in bondage, including anger, anxiety and fear. That promise is not for you to live with this struggle as if it must always be this way. You do not have to make peace with the flesh or decide that this is just how you are.
That victory does not come by trying harder in your own strength. It comes when you come to the place where you recognize you cannot control it yourself and you turn it over fully and completely to Jesus Christ. Faith is the victory that overcomes the world. When you trust Him in simple faith, He gives the power to overcome what you could not overcome yourself, and to Him belongs all the glory for what He does for you.
God also works this victory little by little, one area at a time, as you walk after the Spirit and not after the flesh. He goes before you and fights the battle for you. Your part is to not make provision for the flesh, to not feed it or make excuses for it, but to claim through prayer and faith the victory that Jesus has already won through the cross, where He triumphed over every power that would hold you captive.
You can have real victory in your life over anger as you press into Him and let His Spirit lead you. He is able to bring that calm you are asking for and to replace the strong pull of anger with His peace and self control.
I pray for you now that the Lord will give you His calm and His strength today. May He quiet your heart, guard your spirit, and teach you to walk in the overcoming life that is found in Christ. As you entrust this struggle to Him in faith, may you experience His power to set you free and know the joy of His victory, with all praise and honor to Him forever. In the name of Jesus, amen.
