Anger

I would like god to heal the deep places where the hurt began and to soften my anger. Also I would like prayer as I study for my driving theory test.

We join with you in bringing this deep and honest request before the Lord, for He sees the hurt beneath the anger and He cares for you intimately as you prepare for this practical step in your life.

We hear your desire for healing in the deep places where the hurt began, and we praise God that you are asking Him to soften your heart. Anger itself is not always sin, but Scripture warns us how quickly it can take root and give place to the enemy if we hold onto it. Be angry, and don't sin. Don't let the sun go down on your wrath, neither give place to the devil Ephesians 4:26-27. We are also taught, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger; for the anger of man doesn't produce the righteousness of God James 1:19-20. The Lord does not want you to simply manage anger, but to be healed at the source, for He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3. He promises to give a new heart and put a new spirit within you and to take away the heart of stone and give a heart of flesh Ezekiel 36:26. We encourage you to invite the Holy Spirit to search those deep places, to bring to light any unforgiveness, bitterness, or old wounds that still ache, and to release them to Christ through forgiveness and truth. He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty; he who rules his spirit, than he who takes a city Proverbs 16:32. As you feel anger rise, we encourage you to pause, pray, and ask God to create in you a clean heart and renew a right spirit within you Psalm 51:10, trusting that His peace can guard your heart and mind.

We also lift up your studies for your driving theory test. God cares about the practical details of our lives and honors diligence. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23. We pray for clarity of mind, good memory, and calm focus as you study and when you take the test. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him James 1:5. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.

We noticed your request spoke of god but did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently share why His name is so essential. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and receive healing and salvation, for there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1 Timothy 2:5, and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. Jesus Himself said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. To come to God for healing, we come through faith in Jesus, believing He died for our sins and rose again, and calling upon His name.

We pray together now for you.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, and we thank You for this dear one who is seeking You. Lord, You know the deep places where the hurt began, every wound, every disappointment, every moment that planted seeds of anger. We ask You to touch those places with Your healing hand, to bind up what is broken, to wash away bitterness with Your grace, and to soften this heart with Your love. Create a clean heart and renew a steadfast spirit within. Teach us to be slow to anger and quick to listen, and to walk in the fruit of Your Spirit, which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control Galatians 5:22-23. Give peace where there has been turmoil and help to forgive as You have forgiven us. We also ask for Your help in studying for the driving theory test. Grant wisdom, understanding, and recall, remove anxiety, and let diligence bear fruit. We trust You with both the healing of the heart and the success of this test according to Your perfect will. We ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to continue to bring your anger and your pain to the Lord daily in prayer, to spend time in His Word, and to consider sharing with a trusted mature believer or counselor who can walk with you toward healing. Be diligent in your studies, rest in His peace, and trust that He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you.

We appreciate you sharing so honestly about the anger and the hurt underneath it, and about your theory test. Wanting God to soften your heart and heal those deeper places is a good and humble desire, and we want to stand with you in it.

One thing that has helped many people is to see anger as a signal rather than the whole story. Often underneath is hurt from the past, frustration in the present, or fear about the future. When you notice anger rising, it can help to pause and gently ask, what am I really feeling underneath this, and bring that specific hurt or fear to the Lord in a simple, honest prayer, inviting Him to be with you in that memory or moment. It is not a quick fix, but over time it helps the energy of anger work for you rather than against you, and keeps bitterness from taking root.

For your theory test, steady small steps often help more than long cramming sessions. A regular time each day for practice questions and reviewing the ones you missed can build confidence without wearing you out.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus name. Meet them in those deep places where hurt began, bring Your comfort and healing in Your timing, and gently soften the anger. Give them peace and clarity as they study, and help them to sense Your nearness each day. Amen.

Your honest cry has been heard and we count it a mercy that you have brought it before the Lord, for He is the Physician who delights to heal the broken heart and to bind up its wounds.

You speak of deep places where the hurt began, and of anger that needs to be softened. There is indeed a deep of human misery and ruin within us, a deep of affliction that at times seems to go over us like waves and billows. But blessed be God, there is a deep which answers to that deep, and it is the deep of Divine Grace. Deep calls unto deep, and the deep of His predestination and Providence and mercy answers the deep of our sorrow. The Lord does not deal with us only upon the surface. He dwells deep and works deep, and He would have you dwell deep in fellowship with Christ, that you may have deep knowing and deep feeling and a lasting work of grace within.

We are told that He heals the brokenhearted, and that the very leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations. The least thing about Christ is healing. His fruit is sweet and nourishing, and His leaves, His gentlest touches, His lightest words, have healing virtue to change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. When Jesus comes to dwell with His people, pardon and healing come together, for He bore the deep furrows in His own flesh that we might be healed. He takes the fevered one by the hand and lifts her up, and the fever leaves her. So He can do with that sudden fever of anger which inflames the spirit. He alone can purge it and give a gentle and loving heart in its place.

Bring then your anger and your hurt again and again to Him with tear filled eyes and childlike confession. He is not slow to pardon. Those eyes of faith have mighty power with Him who is Goodness itself, and He will not long refuse the contrite soul. Ask Him not only to restrain the anger without, but to heal the deep within where the wound was first made, that out of a healed heart may flow patience and softness.

We will pray for you in this, and we will pray also for your study for the driving theory test. It is a right and good thing to be diligent in what is set before you, and to ask the Lord for a clear mind, a quiet spirit, and understanding as you apply yourself. As Christ linked healing with teaching, so we ask that as you hear and learn, the Lord would give you steadiness and recollection.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, look upon this wounded heart. Thou knowest the deep places where the hurt began, which no eye but Thine has fully seen. Speak Thy healing word there. Forgive sin and heal disease, soften anger and subdue it by Thy grace, and let the healing leaves of Christ be laid upon this soul till it is made whole. Give a calm and teachable spirit, and in the study that lies ahead, grant diligence, a sound mind, and peace, that all may be done to Thy glory. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our healing and our pardon. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We thank you for sharing your request with such honesty. We have brought your needs before the Lord and we continue to pray for you.

You asked for healing in the deep places where hurt began and for softened anger. Scripture warns us that anger is not a small matter. Bitterness gives way to wrath, and wrath to anger, and anger to greater harm, and the most dangerous fire is the one that burns quietly within and is kept alive in the heart. To keep anger against another and at the same time to seek healing from God is contrary to His mercy. He calls us to put away all bitterness and malice and to cut it up by the roots, so that we do not grieve the Holy Spirit.

God sees the wounds that others cannot see. He is the one who dresses wounds and heals sores, and He is able to cleanse what is deep and sore within. The way of healing is through a contrite heart, through honest prayer, through confessing our hurt and our anger to Him, and through forgiving as we have been forgiven in Christ. Love is like a safe harbor. When love dwells within, anger and rashness are taken away and the soul finds calm. We pray that the Lord will show you the root of the hurt, that He will heal those deep places by His grace, that He will soften your heart and teach you to release those who have wronged you, not by your own strength but by the power of His Spirit at work in you. As you feel anger rising, bring it quickly to Him in prayer, speak gently rather than with clamor, and seek the help of trusted believers who can walk with you and counsel you.

We also pray for you as you study for your driving theory test. God honors diligence and faithfulness in small things. We ask Him to give you clarity of mind, steadiness, and peace as you prepare, to help you study well and to remember what you have learned, and to guard you from anxiety. Whatever the result, may you trust His good provision and use this skill to serve others with care and responsibility.

Let us pray together. Father, we thank You that You know our hearts fully and love us completely through Jesus Christ. We ask You to heal the deep wounds where hurt began for this dear one. Touch what is sore and hidden, wash away bitterness, and grant a soft and humble heart. Teach us to put away anger and malice and to walk in love and forgiveness as You have forgiven us. Give calm where there has been turmoil, and bring the peace that comes from Your Spirit. We also ask for help in studying for the driving theory test. Grant understanding, focus, and a calm mind, and let all be done for Your glory. We ask this in the name of Jesus our Lord, who bore our wounds that we might be healed. Amen.

Thank you for sharing so honestly about the anger you feel and the deeper hurt underneath it, and about your desire for God to bring healing there. That desire itself is a work of God in your heart, and He is able to meet you in those deep places.

Scripture makes a distinction that can help you as you pray. There is an anger that is not sinful, the kind of anger at evil and at what dishonors God. Jesus showed this when He was angry at the desecration of His Father's house and when He looked with anger at hard hearts that would have kept a man with a withered hand from being healed. But Scripture also warns, be angry and do not sin, and do not let the sun go down on your anger. We are told to put away bitterness and wrath and anger and clamour and evil speaking along with all malice, because those things grieve the Holy Spirit by whom we are sealed. They tear down rather than build up.

God does not hide this truth about anger in the Bible. When two of Jacob's sons acted in fierce anger and killed the men of a city, that anger was later called cursed, and they lost the place of blessing because of it. Unchecked temper bears lasting fruit. On the other hand, Proverbs teaches that a soft answer turns away wrath while harsh words stir it up, and that a person who is slow to anger quiets strife. Ask God to make you slow to anger and to give you a gentle and steady spirit, and to help you practice that soft answer in the moments when anger rises.

There is hope for the softening you are asking for. When Jacob was to meet his brother Esau after years of bitterness, he feared Esau's anger, but God changed Esau's heart. By the time they met, the anger had been lifted, and the meeting that could have been bitter became an embrace with forgiveness and tears. God is able to soften hearts, both yours and the hearts of those who have hurt you, and to bring that kind of release where there has been long standing pain. Faith is not passive, you can actively seek Him, confess what is in your heart, and ask Him to do this changing work.

He also wants to heal the deep place where the hurt began. The Bible pictures a river of life flowing from the throne of God, and a tree of life whose leaves are for the healing of the nations. That is a picture of the healing God offers to His people. His forgiveness is not partial, like someone who says I forgive you but keeps the hurt ready to use again. When God forgives, it is complete. If we confess our sins to Him, He forgives and cleanses. The only thing that keeps us from that forgiveness is not coming to Him to ask for it. Many live with a plagued conscience when they do not need to, because the invitation is still open to come to Jesus, receive His pardon, be cleansed, and be made a child of God. As you bring both the hurt done to you and any sinful response of your own anger to Him, He can lift the weight of guilt and begin to heal the memory and the wound itself. You are not condemned when you are in Christ. Others may condemn, you may even condemn yourself, but He does not condemn those who trust in Jesus who paid the price for forgiveness.

I will pray for you, that the Lord would touch the original place of hurt, cleanse your conscience where it needs cleansing, wash away bitterness, and give you a new softness of heart by His Spirit. I will also pray for your driving theory test, that God would give you peace as you study, help you to remember what you have learned, and give you a clear mind and calm heart as you take the test. Keep seeking Him daily, bringing the anger to Him quickly before it settles, and trusting Him to do the deep healing only He can do.
