Disciple of Prayer
Alone, unemployed, car falling apart, cold, hoping for deliverance that always seems to be around the next corner, but it is only a shadow of what I'm told in scripture that is always alluding to some great promise of His word that seems to have no real substance but just some great story to get me to believe.
When does it become a reality? When do my prayers actually get answered! The car fixed! The child support and bills caught up. A woman that will be OK with a poor man. An end to my poverty; I'm ### and still haven't seen success or prosperity. Was married ### years and asked to leave because I couldn't pay the bills. ### kids, no drugs, or drinking, I don't smoke, no tattoos or piercings. Tried to follow the Bible. I was faithful to her and God. I've known a couple of women since the marriage ended. I guess that is enough to abandon me. Leave me in poverty by myself.
Jesus was abandoned on the cross, Job felt abandoned, Hezekiah in 2 Chronicles 32:31
Is this what my attempts at obedience and seeking God get me? Almost ### years of hoping for something better. I've been like a donkey chasing a carrot on a stick; always seeing it but never attaining it. When? How much longer?
