Prayer Partner
For the last 9 months I have been on here about every week asking for prayer for my 2 4 yo s o n. He was in a psychotic state from smoking delta 8 (a legal form of THC filled with nasty chemicals) and overdosing on Adderall along with taking s e x and caffeine pills. So I filed Marchman which is an act with the State where a Judge forces him to get help and stay in a facility. During this 9 mo he has fought help, tells me I overreacted and he never needed this, wouldn't participate in the program, got kicked out of one of the facilities for making out with a g i r l and has been in an all male halfway house for about 5 months. He finally got a job and 2 weeks later got fired for saying stuff that offends others. He got another job that he just started Monday. He is going to small groups and individual therapy but does not participate in the 12 steps program nor does he have a sponsor. He got his car back 2 weeks ago and the facility holds the keys only giving them to him if its church, work or small group meetings.
The Marchman is coming to an end on Aug 11 and so he will no longer be forced to stay at the halfway house. He has been told if he leaves, he cannot come home and if he chooses to live in his car and he doesn't make the car payment the car will be repossessed. If he stays and completes the program as long as he stays we will pay for him to stay, pay his car payment, insurance and medical bills. Prayers he will choose to complete the program, staying as long as it takes to get him to a place of independence. Prayers the demonic strongholds will be broken, prayers he will see me for who I truly am, not believing the lies of the devil and take responsibility for his actions. Prayers he will want to grow up, mature and be self sufficient, prayers the holy spirit will fill him with a holy fire, chains will break, his mind will be healed and Jesus Christ will be the love of his life. That he will have a desire to get involved in the local church, that his roommates will become Christians and that the facility will be fill with nothing but the presence of Jesus. With all patients and workers finding favor with him and him finding favor with them. Thank you.

We are deeply moved by your persistent faith and love for your son. You have been a steadfast intercessor for him, and we join you in lifting him up to our Heavenly Father, who is able to break every chain and set the captives free. We are grateful that you have mentioned the name of Jesus Christ in your request, for it is through His name that we have access to God and find salvation. As it is written in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."

We recognize the spiritual battle that is raging for your son's soul and mind. The enemy has sought to bind him with addiction, rebellion, and deception, but we know that our God is greater. We stand together in the authority of Jesus Christ, rebuking the demonic strongholds in your son's life. As it is written in Luke 10:19, "Behold, I give you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will in any way hurt you."

We pray that your son's eyes will be opened to the truth, that he will see you as the loving parent you are, and that he will take responsibility for his actions. We pray that he will choose to complete the program, embracing the help and structure it provides, rather than returning to a life of bondage. We ask that the Holy Spirit will fill him with a holy fire, burning away the dross of sin and addiction, and refining him as pure gold.

We pray for his mind to be healed and renewed, as it says in Romans 12:2, "Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God." We ask that Jesus Christ will become the love of his life, that he will hunger and thirst for righteousness, and find his satisfaction in God alone.

We pray for godly influences in his life, that his roommates will become Christians, and that the facility will be filled with the presence of Jesus. We ask that he will find favor with the staff and residents, and that they will find favor with him. We pray that he will have a desire to get involved in the local church, finding a community of believers who will support and encourage him in his walk with the Lord.

We also lift you up, dear parent, asking that God will strengthen and encourage you. We pray that you will see the fruit of your faithful prayers, and that your son will rise up as a mighty warrior for Christ. We stand together with you, believing for a miracle in your son's life.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to stand firm in your faith, knowing that God is working even when we cannot see it. We urge you to keep praying, keep believing, and keep speaking life and truth over your son. We are here with you, lifting you both up in prayer, and we give God all the glory for the victory that is to come.

We also want to address the issue of your son's inappropriate behavior with the young lady at the facility. We pray that he will see the error of his ways and repent, turning to God for forgiveness and strength to live a life of purity. As it is written in 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5, "For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to control his own body in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don’t know God." We pray that he will honor God with his body, fleeing from sexual immorality, and pursuing a life of holiness.

We also encourage you to set healthy boundaries with your son, loving him unconditionally but not enabling his destructive behavior. We pray that God will give you the wisdom and strength to do this, and that your son will see the love behind your actions. We pray that he will choose to stay in the program, completing it and embracing the help it offers. We ask that God will provide for his every need, and that he will find his satisfaction and identity in Christ alone.

We continue to stand with you in prayer, believing for a mighty work of God in your son's life. We give God all the glory, honor, and praise, and we thank you for your faithfulness in prayer. We are here with you, lifting you both up before the throne of grace, and we know that our God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. To Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

We're right there with you, dear friend, as you continue to intercede for your son. We've been praying with you, and we want to add our voices to yours in lifting him up to the Lord.

We're believing with you that, as the Marchman Act comes to an end, your son will choose to stay in the program, completing it and finding the help and healing he so desperately needs. We're claiming 2 Corinthians 10:4-5, that "the weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."

We're praying that the demonic strongholds in his life will be broken, that the lies of the enemy will be exposed, and that he will see you for who you truly are - a loving, faithful parent who has never given up on him. We're believing that he will take responsibility for his actions and choose to walk in the truth.

We're also praying for his mind to be renewed, that he would hunger and thirst for righteousness, and find his satisfaction in God alone. We're claiming Philippians 4:7, that "the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard his heart and his mind in Christ Jesus."

Let's continue to stand together in faith, believing for a mighty work of God in his life. We're here with you, lifting him up in prayer, and we know that our God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. To Him be the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
