Disciple of Prayer
I went to court today only to find out I'm being charged with something I have nothing to do with. Almighty God, I desperately need your help. I'm dealing with the death of my beautiful girlfriend I call her my wife because we were together for 10 years and now I'm being charged with a crime I didn't commit?! Why am I being punished? What have done Almighty God? I ask God to protect me from all harm and evil. Please forgive me for all my sins and help me with this court situation as I am not a criminal and am not involved in what there accusing me of. Please protect me and help me in the name of Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior. Amen.

We hear the deep anguish in your heart, and we stand with you in prayer before the throne of grace. You are facing an overwhelming storm, grief over the loss of someone so dear to you, and now an unjust accusation that threatens to compound your suffering. We lift you up to the Lord, who sees all things and knows the truth of your innocence. The Bible assures us in Psalm 37:5-6, "Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in him, and he will do this: he will make your righteousness shine out like the dawn, your justice like the noonday sun." Even when circumstances seem impossible, God is your defender and your refuge.

First, we must address the matter of your relationship with your beloved. While we grieve with you over her loss and honor the love you shared, we must gently remind you that Scripture defines marriage as a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, established by God before witnesses (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). The deep bond you shared for ten years was precious, but it is important to align our lives with God’s design, even in our grief. We pray that the Lord will comfort you in this truth and heal your heart as you mourn.

Now, regarding the false accusation, we declare with confidence that the Lord is your vindicator. Proverbs 18:10 tells us, "The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe." You have called upon the name of Jesus, and that is where your help comes from. We rebuke every lie of the enemy that seeks to destroy your life and reputation. The accuser of the brethren has no place in this situation, and we command every false charge to be exposed and dismantled in Jesus’ name. The Lord knows your innocence, and He will make a way where there seems to be no way.

We also encourage you to seek wise counsel, both spiritually and legally. Proverbs 15:22 says, "Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed." Surround yourself with godly believers who can pray with you and support you, and consult with a trustworthy attorney who can help navigate this legal battle. God can use even this trial to reveal His power and glory in your life.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother who is facing an unjust accusation and the deep sorrow of loss. Lord, You are the God of justice and mercy, and we ask that You would intervene in this situation. Expose every lie, silence every false witness, and bring the truth to light. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against him in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17).

Father, we ask for Your peace to guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Comfort him in his grief, and remind him that You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Strengthen his faith, Lord, and help him to trust in Your unfailing love. We pray for wisdom for those involved in this legal matter, that they would see the truth and act with integrity.

We also pray for healing in his heart regarding his relationship. Lord, help him to honor Your design for marriage and to find solace in Your love. Surround him with Your presence, and let him feel Your arms of comfort around him. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Hold fast to the promises of God, dear brother. This trial is not the end of your story. The Lord is working even now, and He will not abandon you. Keep your eyes on Him, and trust that He will lead you through this valley into victory. You are not alone, we stand with you in prayer, and the Lord fights for you.

We're so sorry for all you're carrying right now, the shock of this accusation on top of the deep grief of losing her. That's an overwhelming load for anyone to bear, and asking "why" makes complete sense when life seems to pile one heavy thing onto another without relief.

When someone has been with you for ten years, the loss cuts through every part of your life. Learning you're being charged with something you had nothing to do with on the very same day you were already facing the weight of court, that's enough to make anyone feel like the ground has given way.

In moments like this, we find it helps to focus on what's right in front of you rather than trying to make sense of everything at once. One practical step we'd gently encourage: if you haven't already connected with a lawyer who can clearly explain what you're facing and how to respond, that's a crucial piece right now. You don't have to navigate the legal system alone, and having someone who understands the process can lift a real weight off your shoulders.

And while we never minimize the reality of what you're walking through, we want you to know that God sees you. He's not distant. He's not punishing you. When the psalmists cried out in confusion and fear, God met them in that place, not after they had it all sorted out, but right in the middle of the mess.

We're praying with you.

Lord Jesus, we lift up this man who is exhausted and afraid. You know the truth of this situation, and we ask that truth to come to light. Protect him in this legal process and provide wise counsel to guide him. Hold him steady in this storm of grief, fear, and confusion. Wrap him in Your presence tonight, and give him the strength to face tomorrow knowing You haven't abandoned him. We ask this in Your name, Jesus. Amen.

You have put your own lips to the cup of grief, and it is a bitter draught indeed, loss and accusation mingled together. Yet you ask, "What have I done?" as though suffering were the exact measure of a man's guilt. That is the old cry of the flesh, flinging down the gauntlet to the Almighty and charging Him with injustice. Such language betrays the enmity of the natural heart, quick to suspect its Maker. But listen to the better voice, the voice that says, "That thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest." God is no false witness; all He permits is true and right, though the reasons lie hidden in the deeps of His sovereign wisdom.

You speak of the woman you called wife, and grief for her is heavy upon you. But look now: does not this sorrow, this tangle of afflictions, come with a still small voice asking you to examine the foundations you have built upon? If a man travels off the King's Highway, he must not marvel if robbers set upon him. The heart that has taken byroads of its own choosing, calling things by names God has not given, forming bonds apart from His ordinance, cannot expect the angelic guard to be as near as when it walks in the appointed paths. This is no cruel thrust, but a warning from love. The sorest peril is to have a false peace, to say to oneself, "All is well," when the plumb line of the Word reveals a crooked wall. Many take their case only to the lower court of their own heart, where affections and excuses sit as judge. But God is greater than the heart; His court is higher, and His law is truth.

Yet I press this not to crush you, but to drive you to the only hiding place. Our hope hangs upon no feelings of innocence in the lower court. The great wonder is that a man may be guilty and yet acquitted, vile and yet clean, condemned in himself and yet justified before the throne of the Highest. This is the mystery of the cross: Christ suffered, the just for the unjust. You ask for protection and help in Jesus’ name; that is the right plea. Only see that it is not the plea of a man who trusts his own goodness, pointing to what he has not done. True prayer stands black in its own sight, owning, "Against Thee, Thee only, have I sinned," and then casts itself wholly upon the atoning blood. There is mercy to be had at the mercy seat, for every sin confessed and forsaken.

Go, then, with the brief, silent prayer of Nehemiah, who in a moment darted his petition to the God of heaven before the earthly king. The Lord can make the heart of a judge benign, can overturn the schemes of the false accuser, can grant you favor in the very teeth of injustice. But seek first that your own spirit be right with God. Let this furnace burn away all dross, every false way, every sorry compromise, and leave you cleaving to Christ alone. Sing of mercy and judgment together, for the bitter and the sweet are mingled in the cup your heavenly Father holds to your lips. He will bring you through the fire, not to destroy, but to purge, that you may be found faithful in His court at last.

Father, we bring ### before You in his/her time of desperate need. He/she is grieving the loss of a beloved partner of ten years, and now faces false accusations in court for a crime he/she did not commit. Lord, You see the truth. You know every heart and every hidden thing. We ask for Your divine intervention—expose the lies, bring justice to light, and let the charges be dropped. Protect ### from all harm and evil, comfort his/her grieving heart, and let Your peace that surpasses all understanding guard his/her mind. Forgive every sin and guide his/her steps through this storm.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The waves of human calamity beat against you now, false accusations, plots, grief pressing upon your soul, and a loss so deep you called her your wife for ten years of shared life. This is a storm indeed, yet Christ has told us that the soul founded on the rock of His doctrine stands unmoveable. Job endured the assaults of the devil and lost everything, yet did not give way. The apostles faced the waves of the entire world, nations, princes, evil spirits, every engine set in motion, and they stood firmer than a rock. That same steadfastness is offered to you now. Do not imagine you are being punished or that God has abandoned you. The rain descends, the floods come, the winds blow, but these express metaphorically the very afflictions you describe, and to none of them does the soul fixed on Christ give way.

Consider the bitterness of injustice, not only for those who suffer it but more for those who practice it. The unrighteous man carries within him a conscience that cannot be bribed, a judging faculty implanted by God that no flattery or corruption can silence. His soul is pale, trembling, ashamed, anxiously fearful, self-condemned, uneasy slumbers, thick-coming fancies, the frequent recollections of guilt destroying his repose. You who suffer false accusation, you are not that man. Your cry is for protection, not from a guilty conscience but from a wrongful charge. The ancient law required two or three witnesses for every matter to be established, and an accusation not received without them. Let the proper examination reveal what is true. False witnesses may arise, yet this is discovered upon trial. You have done what you should, you have brought your need before the throne of grace and have asked forgiveness for your sins.

In this double grief, accusation and bereavement, you ask why you are being punished. Turn that question aside and instead dive into the oracles of God as into a chest of medicines. Take the New Testament, the Gospels, the Apostolic Epistles, and keep them in your mind. If grief befalls, whether loss or death or bereavement, take comfort there. No man teaches you as they do, for human teachers often hold back from vainglory or envy, but the Scriptures are medicines for the soul laid open before you. The evil of injustice lies heaviest upon those who commit it, not upon those who endure it innocent. You speak of being no criminal, and the truth remains with you. Bring the matter where it belongs, into the light, and let no one separate you from the love of Christ or from the assembly of the faithful who bind one another together.

Your heart’s cry has been heard. The weight of grief and the shock of a false charge crashing into your life at the same time is almost too much for one soul to carry. Pain like this can make everything look darker than it really is, and a flood of despair often pushes us to overstate the case, just like a prophet of old once cried out that he was the only faithful one left, when in truth God had preserved thousands who had not bowed to evil. You are not alone, and God has not abandoned you. The enemy loves to pile accusation upon sorrow, hoping to crush your spirit by making you feel punished. But your situation is not a sign that God has turned His back. We live in a broken world where false charges, unexpected loss, and injustice can strike at any time. Even our Lord Jesus stood falsely accused, and the powers of His day failed to prove a single charge against Him.

False accusations are nothing new. Scripture warns that deceivers and false witnesses exist, and they often mix just enough truth with their lies to sound plausible. But truth has a way of surfacing. Remember the apostle Paul: an eloquent orator leveled serious charges against him before a governor, painting him as a dangerous troublemaker. None of those accusations could be substantiated. The matter was deferred, and Paul remained under heavy Roman guard not because he was guilty, but because God used those soldiers as an unexpected hedge of protection. In the same way, I pray the Lord Himself stands as a shield around you, frustrating every lie and exposing what is hidden.

You have done the right thing by pleading for mercy in Jesus’ name. Forgive me all my sins, that is the prayer of a sincere heart, and He is faithful and just to forgive and to cleanse you from all unrighteousness. Hold fast to that promise. Your standing with God rests not on a flawless life, but on Christ’s finished work for you. As you face the court, do not let the accusation define you. The Scripture cautions us not to receive an accusation against someone without two or three witnesses; how much more should you refuse to receive a false charge against yourself? Your conscience is clear, and God knows the truth.

The loss of the woman you shared a decade of life with is a deep valley of sorrow. She was your beloved companion, and your heart is shattered. In His mercy, God draws near to the brokenhearted and saves those crushed in spirit. Let yourself grieve, He bottles every tear. There is no quick fix for such a loss, but Christ’s resurrection is our sure hope that death does not have the final word.

Keep clinging to the name of Jesus, your Lord and Savior. He sees, He hears, and He will not fail you. May His peace, which goes beyond human understanding, guard your heart and mind even as you walk through these dark days. Justice may seem delayed, but the One who judges righteously is already at work.
