Almighty God please help me

The soul that trusts in the Lord is not shaken, even when the storms of grief and accusation beat upon it. You mourn the passing of your wife, and that sorrow is heavy; yet remember that death is not the end for those who die in Christ. Instead of allowing your grief to become a gateway for dark thoughts, let it lift your eyes to the God who raises the dead. Job, when he lost everything, did not rebuke spirits but fell to the ground and worshiped, saying, “Blessed be the name of the Lord.” If you will give thanks even in this affliction, the evil you fear will be turned into good, for nothing truly harms the one who loves God.

You speak of an evil spirit hurting you. But what power has any demon unless the Master of all permits it? They could not even enter the swine without Christ’s leave. Do not fix your gaze so intently on the enemy that you forget the sovereign protection of Christ. The name of Jesus is indeed mightier than every dark power, but it is not a charm to be spoken in panic. It is the banner under which you march in a life of repentance, humility, and fervent love. Stand firm, then, not only with words of rebuke, but with a soul that cleaves to what is good, that hates evil, that serves the Lord with a glowing spirit. If you fill your mind with thanksgiving, the flame of the Spirit will burn within you, and the devil will flee not merely from your cry, but from the fire of a righteous life.

Concerning the court case: you say they charge you with crimes that are not your own. If this is true, then you share in the sufferings of the saints, who were often accused falsely. Remember how the Lord Himself stood before judges and accusers, and they could find nothing true against Him, yet He did not return evil for evil. He entrusted Himself to the One who judges justly. It is far better to be wronged than to wrong another. If you are innocent, do not let your heart grow hot with resentment or a demand for vindication, for that very anger would stain your soul. Instead, let your conduct be honest in the sight of all, and leave the hearts of the judge and prosecutor to God. He alone turns the hearts of rulers like channels of water. Pray not merely that the charges be dropped, but that you may walk through this trial with a patience that glorifies Christ. If any hidden sin of your own has opened the door to this trouble, flee to repentance. God is not mocked, and His mercy is for the broken and contrite, not for the self-righteous.

Above all, do not isolate yourself. The evil one hunts the sheep that wanders from the flock. Where two or three are gathered in His name, there Christ is in the midst. Seek out the faithful brethren; let them pray for you and with you. If you have any suspicion against another, bring it into the light, that it may be examined and healed. And if a word of correction comes to you from those who love your soul, do not despise it. The wound of a friend is faithful.

The peace you seek is not the absence of storms but the anchor of a clean conscience before God. The widow, the falsely accused, the one who endures loss without cursing God, these are the ones who walk in the path of the martyrs. By this path, your departed wife, if she died in faith, has already reached the haven. Follow after her, not by tears alone, but by imitating the faith that carries us through death into life.

Grief this deep can leave us feeling like the ground has been ripped out from under us, and it is no surprise that a season of sorrow can feel like a spiritual siege. You are right to cry out to the Lord, and you are right to take refuge in the name of Jesus Christ. That name is a fortress, not a mere formula, because it represents a living Savior who has already defeated every hostile power. When you feel assaulted by an evil presence, remember that the Spirit who raised Christ from the dead now dwells within every believer. He is not distant; He is the Spirit who bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.

The Word does warn us not to believe every spirit or treat the unseen realm as if every whisper and shadow is from the enemy. There are many false spirits abroad, yet the one true Holy Spirit testifies to Jesus Christ come in the flesh, and He fills us with a love that casts out fear. If you set your mind entirely on the threat, the threat looms larger. But when your spirit is ruled by the Spirit of God, your mind becomes fixed on Him and on the mercies that are new each morning. Instead of merely rebuking what you fear, ask the Lord to so fill you with His Spirit that whatever is evil must flee because it cannot abide the presence of Christ in you. Secondhand approaches will not do. The vagabond exorcists who tried to use the name of Jesus without a firsthand relationship discovered in terror that they had no authority. But you are in Christ. You have the real thing.

As you walk through the court case, you are not asking for mere justice. If we all received what we deserve, none of us could stand. You are pleading for mercy, and that is always the better request. Plead for mercy, not for a system to declare you innocent on your own merits, but for the Lord to move upon hearts and grant you unearned favor. Trust that He is able to touch the judge and the prosecutor far more than any scheme of the adversary can manipulate them. He can make even your enemies to be at peace with you when your ways please Him.

Do not let the lying spirit convince you that you must sustain a constant verbal battle just to keep your head above water. Yes, resist the devil and he will flee, but the far greater reality is that you are already hidden with Christ in God. The Holy Spirit has been poured out to be your Comforter and your power, not merely your defense attorney. Be filled with that Spirit. Let Him lead you into truth and peace that do not depend on an absence of trouble. The fruit He produces is love, joy, peace. That fruit inside you is a more decisive testimony than any shout against darkness. Jesus Himself did not go about seeking to expel spirits out of a frantic zeal; He moved in the authority of the Spirit and simply commanded them, and they obeyed. Let His Spirit teach you when to speak and when to rest.

The same Lord who granted you a wife you loved so deeply has not abandoned you to ruin. The Holy Spirit who knit your soul to hers in sweet communion now upholds you when the sorrow feels unbearable. He is not a Spirit of confusion or torment. The consuming fire of His love will, in time, burn away the dread and the despair, leaving you with a quiet confidence that neither death nor life nor angels nor rulers can separate you from the love of God in Christ Jesus. Cling to that firsthand relationship. Let your prayer become less of a frantic cry against an attacker and more of a settled resting in the One who has already overcome the world. His grace, His mercy, and His peace are yours today.

We want to thank you for the trust you placed in us to lift you up in prayer during this deeply painful and trying season. Your heartache over the loss of your beloved wife and the spiritual battles you’re facing have not gone unnoticed by our Heavenly Father. We continue to stand with you, declaring the powerful name of Jesus over every attack, every accusation, and every lie that seeks to harm you.

Father God, we join our brother in prayer, asking You to surround him with Your divine protection and peace. We rebuke every evil spirit in the mighty name of Jesus, commanding them to flee and never return. Lord, we pray for Your healing touch—emotionally, physically, and spiritually—so that he may walk in the fullness of Your grace and restoration. We also lift up his court case before You, asking that You soften the hearts of the judge and prosecutor. Let truth and mercy prevail, and may the charges against him be dropped as a testimony to Your justice and faithfulness.

If You, Lord, have already moved in this situation, we would be so blessed to hear a praise report—how You have shielded, comforted, or delivered him. If the battle still rages, we invite you to share your prayer request again, and we will continue to intercede on your behalf. May the Lord continue to draw you close, strengthen your faith, and remind you that you are never alone. We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
