Disciple of Prayer
Almighty God, my life is falling around me. First, my girlfriend of 10 years passes away while we were sleeping. Then I start getting calls from collection agencies for debts from 10 years ago, my friend who owes me money doesn't pay me and now I had to go to court for something that has nothing to do with me. Why am I being punished? What have I done to deserve this. Please God forgive me for all my sins and protect me from all harm in the name of Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior i pray. Amen.

We hear the deep anguish in your heart, and we lift you up before the throne of grace with heavy hearts. The loss of someone so dear after ten years together is a pain that words can scarcely touch, and the weight of financial strain and unjust circumstances only compounds your suffering. You cry out, "Why am I being punished?" and we want you to know that God does not delight in your suffering. The Bible tells us, "For he does not afflict willingly, nor grieve the children of men" (Lamentations 3:33). The trials you face are not a sign of God’s displeasure but are part of a fallen world where sin and brokenness bring pain to all.

We must gently address the relationship you described with your girlfriend. Scripture is clear that intimacy outside of marriage is not God’s design. "Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge" (Hebrews 13:4). We do not say this to add to your burden but to encourage you to seek God’s forgiveness and healing in every area of your life. His grace is sufficient, and His mercy is new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). We pray that you would allow Him to redeem even this pain and draw you closer to His heart.

You mentioned Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and we rejoice in that truth. It is only through His name that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Jesus Himself said, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). He is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Cling to Him in this season, for He is your refuge and strength.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother who is carrying such deep grief and overwhelming burdens. Lord, You see his pain, and You collect every tear in Your bottle (Psalm 56:8). We ask that You would wrap Your arms around him and remind him of Your presence in the midst of this storm. Comfort him with the hope of eternal life, where there will be no more sorrow or pain (Revelation 21:4). Strengthen his faith, Lord, and help him to trust in Your goodness even when life feels unbearable.

Father, we ask for Your provision and protection over his finances. You know the debts that weigh on him, and we pray that You would make a way where there seems to be no way. "And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19). Give him wisdom in dealing with these matters, and provide justice where it is needed.

Lord, we also pray for peace in his heart regarding the court situation. You are a God of justice, and we trust that You will work all things together for his good (Romans 8:28). Guard his heart from bitterness and resentment, and fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

We ask for Your healing touch on every wound in his soul. Help him to surrender his grief, his fears, and his questions to You. Remind him that You are close to the brokenhearted and that You will never leave him nor forsake him (Deuteronomy 31:6). May he find rest in You alone.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, we pray. Amen.

In this season of suffering, we encourage you to draw near to God and to His people. The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), so do not hesitate to reach out to a trusted pastor, counselor, or fellow believers who can walk alongside you. God’s Word is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105), so immerse yourself in Scripture, even when it feels difficult. Let the truth of God’s love and faithfulness anchor your soul.

You are not alone in this. The Lord is your shepherd, and He will lead you through this valley of shadow (Psalm 23:4). Keep crying out to Him, for He hears you, and He will answer in His perfect time and way.

We’ve been sitting with your words and just want you to know we see the immense weight you’re carrying right now. Waking up to the loss of someone you loved for ten years is a sorrow that would shake anyone to the core. And when that grief is piled on with financial strain, an unpaid debt from a friend, and a court case you shouldn’t even be involved in, it’s no wonder your heart is crying out, Why am I being punished? What did I do to deserve this?

You didn’t describe a God who is distant, though. Even in your anguish, you turned toward Him and asked for forgiveness and protection. That faith, as small as it may feel at this moment, is no small thing. Grief often brings with it a cascade of secondary losses, not just the person, but a sense of stability, fairness, and even our own sense of who we are. It can feel like the whole structure of life is cracking at once, and none of it makes sense. That doesn’t mean God has turned His back on you. It means you’re human and you’re hurting, and He is near to the brokenhearted in ways we can’t always feel but can trust.

A practical thing that sometimes helps in a season like this is to give grief the room it needs rather than trying to solve everything at once. Let yourself mourn this woman you loved, in whatever form that takes, talking about her, writing down memories, or simply sitting with the sadness. As for the debts and the court matter, even one small step toward clarity this week (a phone call to a legal aid service or a free consultation with a credit counselor) can ease the mental load. You don’t have to climb the whole mountain today.

Lord Jesus, we lift up this man who feels crushed under so many burdens. Draw near to him in his grief. Hold him steady. Help him to sense Your presence even when everything feels dark and unfair. Give him practical help and wise people to walk alongside him. Quiet the voice that says he’s being punished, and replace it with the truth that You are merciful and You do not leave us alone in our pain. In Your name we pray, amen.

Thank you Heavenly Father for blessing us with another day, and for all you do for all of us. All glory and honor belongs to you Father. Please Heavenly Father grant strength comfort protection and peace of mind to this requestor. I lift this prayer up on your glory Father God and ask that you grant your perfect will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You cry out in your distress, and the Lord hears the cry of the broken-hearted. Sudden sorrow has come upon you, the loss of one dear to you, the spoiling of your earthly comfort, and the anxious fear of debts and courts. Such trials fall upon both the just and the unjust; none can tell when tribulation will befall them. Yet it is not for us to interpret every trouble as specific punishment, for God’s ways are deep, and He often sends affliction to draw wandering souls to Himself.

But above all your troubles, hear this: There is forgiveness. Yes, forgiveness with God, that He may be feared. You ask why you are being punished, you plead for the remission of your sins, then let this enter your soul like a whisper from heaven: “There is forgiveness.” Not for the small debtor only, but for the chief of sinners. Though your debt of sin be a thousand pounds, He will freely blot it out. The relationship you shared outside the bond of marriage, that too is a sin against His holy law, yet it is not beyond the reach of mercy. The blood of Jesus Christ, God’s Son, cleanses us from all sin. He does not forgive and afterward accuse; His pardon is eternal. I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions for Mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.

When you cannot pay half a farthing in the pound of all your great debt of sin, when you are absolutely bankrupt, then believe that Jesus Christ is your Saviour. His forgiveness is a divine act, surprising in its freeness, absolute in its completeness. The record of your debt is nailed to the Cross, God will not exact the penalty twice. So cease from trembling, and with a penitent heart come now and put your trust in Him. You need not bring conditions or merit; only your poverty of spirit. “Tis perfect poverty alone that sets the soul at large.”

And as you receive this unsearchable mercy, let it make you ready to forgive. The friend who owes you money, how small that debt appears when set beside the mountain of your own offenses pardoned! Forgive as Christ forgave you. Quit the court of human judgment and seek the court of mercy, where the Judge is also the Saviour. There is forgiveness with Him now, at this very moment, however sudden your calamity, however dark your heart. Despair not; look to Jesus, who died, the just for the unjust, to bring us to God. Let this be your soul’s anchorage: “I believe in the forgiveness of sins.” Then, though your outward life be shaken, you shall find in Christ a peace that passes understanding, and He shall be your shield and exceeding great reward.

You ask why you are being punished, what you have done to deserve such waves of sorrow. Do not think that every affliction is a penalty from an angry Judge. Your cry for mercy has reached the throne of grace. Remember the servant who owed an unpayable debt and fell down, begging only for a little more time. But his master, moved with compassion, forgave him the entire sum. That master gave far more than was asked. So it is with you. You cry out for forgiveness, and God will not merely delay your troubles; He wills to remit the whole weight of your guilt and to crown you with blessedness. For David says, "Blessed are those whose iniquities are forgiven." Where there is blessedness, all shame is removed.

Yet you may say, "I am still drowning in grief; my beloved is gone, debts hound me, and injustice presses in." Do you suppose that your Teacher has abandoned you? Look to Christ at the tomb of Lazarus. He wept. He groaned in spirit. He was deeply troubled. He did not stand aloof from mourning but entered into it, even though He knew He would raise the dead. He delayed the miracle for a greater purpose, drawing many witnesses to the glory that was about to be revealed. So too in your life, He may tarry that your faith might be strengthened and that others might see a steadfast soul upheld by grace. Your sorrow is not a sign of His anger but an invitation to lean upon His human sympathy and divine power.

Nor should you imagine that these calamities have singled you out as uniquely cursed. The Apostle reminded those who were shaken by his own sufferings that such trials were not because his faith had failed, but to establish them. The general does not spare his soldiers from wounds, but through those wounds he trains them for victory. Moreover, we do not yet see all things in subjection to Christ. The King has not yet visibly conquered every enemy, so affliction remains in this fallen age. If the end had come and you still suffered, you might justly complain. But now, while the battle rages, do not be surprised. Grief and mourning flee away only in the eternal life promised in Jesus Christ. That promise is your sure hope. Fix your eyes there, and the sharp edge of present distress will be blunted.

I say to you plainly: the relationship you had with your girlfriend, though lasting many years, was not the holy estate of matrimony as God ordained. If there was cohabitation or intimacy outside the covenant of marriage, it was a transgression. But you have cried out for forgiveness, and God is faithful to cleanse you. Do not let the root of bitterness spring up now and defile you. You might ask, "Why then did she die? Why now?" The prophets did not foretell every detail, and neither can we unravel every thread of Providence. But this we know: God allowed it not to destroy you but to draw you from any lingering attachment to sin toward a wholehearted embrace of His will. The death was not a punishment; it was a merciful severance, a call to greater holiness.

Do not let the memory of these sorrows become a root of bitterness. The enemy wants you to dwell only on what is lost, to forget every blessing, and to conclude that you are always in misery. But it is impossible for one who is alive in Christ to be always in sorrow, for grace mingles comfort with every affliction. Count the gifts that remain: a heart that can still pray, the promise of forgiveness, the intercession of Christ, a future resurrection. Even the debts and the court case are opportunities to exercise patience and to learn from the Master who was unjustly condemned for your sake. God comforts us in all our tribulation so that we might comfort others. The compassion you receive now will one day become a wellspring for others who mourn.

Therefore, rise up. Do not question your worth, as though you deserved only blessings in this life. You asked for protection; you shall have it, but not always by the removal of the trial. Sometimes He protects you within the fire, as He did the three youths, so that the flames do not consume you. He forgives your debt, as you asked. Do not then take your fellow servants by the throat, forgive the friend who owes you money, and release any resentment toward those who pursue you in court. Let the greatness of God’s mercy to you make you mild toward others.

Weep, for Christ Himself wept. Pray, for the Lord is near to the brokenhearted. But do not despair. Look diligently to your soul, cut off every shoot of bitterness, and rest in the promise of life where there is no peril, no debt, no sorrow. That life is yours, not by your merit, but by the grace of Him who gave more than you could ever ask. Amen.

Your cry to God rises from a place of deep pain, and that heavy feeling of everything caving in at once is not strange to Him. Grief over someone you shared your life with for ten years cuts to the heart. Death is an enemy, and it leaves a raw wound. Those cold calls from collection agencies, the friend who won’t repay what he owes, a courtroom appearance for something you had no part in, it all piles up until you wonder if you’re being singled out for punishment.

When life crushes in like this, it’s easy to assume God must be settling accounts. But that’s the error Job’s friends made. They looked at his anguish and insisted he was reaping what he sowed, yet God’s own verdict was entirely different. Suffering is not always a direct payback for something you’ve done. We live in a world groaning under the weight of sin’s corruption, where the rain falls on the just and the unjust alike. The pain, the brokenness, the injustices, they trace back to the chaos of rebellion against God, not always to your personal ledger.

And speaking of ledgers, you asked Him to forgive all your sins. That is the one thing that matters most. Jesus came as the true Kinsman Redeemer. In ancient days, if a man owed a debt he couldn’t pay, he was sold into slavery until a relative stepped in to redeem him, paying the price in full. That’s exactly what Christ did for you. You owed a debt of sin you could never cover, and He paid it with His own blood. The just died for the unjust, not to leave you half-pardoned, but to bring you all the way to God, cleansed and righteous in His sight. When God forgives, He doesn’t bury the hatchet with the handle still sticking out so He can dig it up later. His forgiveness is total. You are justified, meaning He doesn’t just wipe the slate; He credits to you the very righteousness of Jesus. That is your standing right now, even when your feelings scream otherwise.

Now, because you’ve been forgiven such an enormous debt, think of the story Jesus told, a man forgiven millions yet strangling a friend over pennies, you have a path through one of these sharp trials. The friend who won’t pay what he owes cuts deep, and I understand that. But you’re holding a small debt compared to what you’ve been released from. God calls you to a spirit of forgiveness, not a mathematical countdown. It’s not, “I’ll let it go after 489 offenses.” True long-suffering flows from a heart that remembers the mercy it received. Ask Him to take away any bitterness rising up over that debt. He’ll give you the capacity to release it, but you must be willing. Pray that He shapes in you a forgiving spirit, not a clenched fist.

That’s also how God uses seasons like this. Suffering, though we’d never choose it, forces roots down deep. It produces a quality of character, a richness of soul, that comfort never could. Paul discovered that the beatings and imprisonments he endured were really sharing in the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus might shine through his battered body. The waiting, the long-suffering with joyfulness, not with whining, but with a quiet trust, has a refining work. It’s not a mark of rejection; it’s an invitation into a fellowship with Christ that transforms you from the inside out.

So bring the whole crushing load to Him again. The death, the debts, the court, the loss, lay it at the feet of the One who was made sin for you though He knew no sin. Commit your soul to a faithful Creator. One day the suffering, the tears, and the pain will be wiped away forever, because the former things will have passed. Until then, receive His complete pardon, walk in the forgiveness He has given you, and let His life be made visible in these very trials. He will not let go.
