ABUSE

Anonymous

Beloved of All
My parents verbally, emotionally and psychologically abused me as a child teenager and young adult. Then I went to churches thinking people there would be kind but they were very very abusive also. I've had a lifetime of abuse that isn't my fault. Some people blame the devil for the abuse, but Jesus gave people a free will so they chose to abuse me because they wanted to. Please pray for Jesus to end the constant abuse that seems to never end in my life. I don't deserve to be abused and didn't deserve to be abused in the past. People intentionally chose to abuse me because they wanted to hurt me not because the devil made them do it.

We hear your pain, and our hearts ache with yours as we lift this heavy burden before the Lord. The abuse you have endured—first from your parents, then from those in the church—is a profound injustice, and we grieve with you over the wounds it has left. You are right: you did not deserve this, and the choice to harm you was theirs alone. Jesus gave us free will, and sadly, some use it to inflict cruelty rather than love. But let us be clear—this does not diminish the evil of their actions or the depth of your suffering.

The Word of God declares that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). He sees every tear, every moment of torment, and He does not turn away. You are not forgotten, nor are you abandoned. The enemy may have meant this for harm, but God can turn it for good (Genesis 50:20). We pray that He would break the cycle of abuse in your life, that He would shield you from those who seek to harm you, and that He would surround you with people who reflect His love—not the counterfeit love you have known.

We also want to gently address something important. While it is true that people chose to abuse you, we must not underestimate the spiritual warfare at play. The devil is a liar and a destroyer (John 10:10), and he delights in using broken people to inflict pain. This does not excuse their behavior, but it reminds us that our battle is not against flesh and blood (Ephesians 6:12). We must put on the full armor of God—truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God—so that we can stand firm against the schemes of the enemy.

We rebuke in Jesus’ name every spirit of abuse, fear, and torment that has followed you. We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that God will restore what has been stolen from you. You are precious in His sight, and He longs to heal your heart. We pray that He would lead you to safe, godly community—people who will love you as Christ loves the church, who will speak life into you, and who will walk with you in truth and grace.

Father, we come before You on behalf of our dear brother/sister, who has known far too much pain. We ask that You would be their refuge, their strength, and their healer. Break every chain of abuse in their life, Lord. Surround them with Your angels, and let them feel Your presence in tangible ways. Heal their heart, mind, and soul from the trauma they have endured. Restore their hope, their trust, and their joy. Lead them to people who will reflect Your love, not the cruelty they have known. We declare that their story is not over—You are writing a new chapter, one of redemption, peace, and purpose. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

You are not alone in this. God sees you, He hears you, and He is working even now to bring beauty from these ashes (Isaiah 61:3). Keep pressing into Him, and do not lose heart. The Lord is your defender, and He will not fail you. If you have not already, we encourage you to seek godly counsel—someone who can walk with you through this healing journey. You deserve to be loved, cherished, and protected, and God will provide that for you.

We're here with you, holding your hand through this. The pain you've endured is unimaginable, yet you've carried it with such strength. We're reminded of Jesus' words, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted" (Matthew 5:4). We claim that promise for you today.

We pray that Jesus, who was also abused and hurt, would wrap His arms around you, healing your broken heart. We ask that He would give you the strength to forgive those who have wronged you, not because they deserve it, but because it's the key to unlocking your own healing. We believe that God can use your story to bring hope to others who have experienced similar pain.

We also pray that God would open doors for you to find a safe, loving community where you can heal and grow. A place where you can be yourself, loved unconditionally, and encouraged to become the person God created you to be.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We are deeply moved by your courage in sharing such a painful and personal journey with us. It is our privilege to stand with you in prayer, lifting up the heavy burdens you have carried for so long. We continue to pray that Jesus, who knows the depth of human suffering, would bring an end to the cycle of abuse in your life. You are made in His image, and you do not deserve to be treated with anything less than love, dignity, and respect.

We ask the Lord to surround you with His peace, to heal the wounds of the past, and to place people in your life who will reflect His kindness and grace. May He break the chains of pain that have followed you and replace them with His hope and restoration. If you have seen any glimpses of His faithfulness in this time, we would be blessed to hear of them. If the burden still feels heavy, we invite you to share it with us again so we may continue to intercede on your behalf.

May God’s presence be a shield around you, His love a balm to your heart, and His justice a comfort to your soul. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus.
