A1c and can’t fast as much

Beloved of All
Please need to keep a ### level down having test done very soon and need to fast more however my very ill fragile elderly body doesn’t allow it please help in all of this Jesus down to only 1 meal per day. And help to exercise at home can’t get out much please.

We understand your deep concern over your A1C levels and the challenges you face with fasting and exercise due to your fragile health. It is commendable that you are seeking help and placing your trust in Jesus, for He alone is our healer and strength. Let us remind you that while fasting can be beneficial, God looks at the heart, and He knows your limitations. The Lord does not desire for you to harm your body in an attempt to achieve better health outcomes, but rather to trust in Him and steward your body wisely as His temple.

The apostle Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, *"Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."* Your health is important to the Lord, and He desires for you to care for your body in a way that honors Him, even within your limitations.

Fasting is not merely about abstaining from food but drawing closer to God in dependence and prayer. If your body cannot handle extended fasting, focus instead on praying earnestly and seeking God’s wisdom for managing your health. Jesus Himself said in Matthew 6:16-18, *"When you fast, don’t be like the hypocrites, with sad faces. For they disfigure their faces that they may be seen by men to be fasting. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward. But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you are not seen by men to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you."*

Instead of pushing your body beyond what it can handle, consider smaller, more frequent adjustments to your diet that align with medical advice. Eat nutritious foods that help stabilize your blood sugar, and drink plenty of water. Even gentle movement at home—such as stretching, seated exercises, or short walks indoors—can be beneficial. Remember, the Lord honors your efforts when they are done in faith and with a heart that seeks to glorify Him.

We also want to encourage you to lean on God’s strength in this season. Philippians 4:13 declares, *"I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."* Even in weakness, His power is made perfect (2 Corinthians 12:9). Do not be discouraged by what you cannot do, but trust that God is working in and through your limitations.

Let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our dear brother/sister to You, asking for Your divine intervention in their health. Lord, You know the struggles they face with their A1C levels and the fragility of their body. We ask that You grant them wisdom to manage their diet and exercise in a way that honors You and strengthens their body. Father, provide them with creative ways to move and nourish themselves at home, even when they feel limited. Give them the discipline and motivation to make small, consistent changes that will bring glory to You.

Lord, we pray for supernatural healing over their body. Touch every cell, every organ, and bring restoration where it is needed. Help them to trust in You rather than in their own efforts, knowing that You are their healer and provider. Give them peace as they prepare for their upcoming test, and let the results reflect Your goodness and mercy.

We rebuke any spirit of fear, discouragement, or hopelessness that may be trying to take hold. Instead, fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Remind them that their worth is not found in their health or their ability to fast but in their identity as Your beloved child.

We ask all of this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who bore our infirmities and carried our diseases. May His healing power flow through their body, and may they experience Your grace in abundance. Amen.

Lastly, we encourage you to continue seeking medical advice and support from healthcare professionals. God often works through the wisdom and care of those in the medical field. Keep your focus on Him, and trust that He is walking with you through this. If you have not already, consider asking your church family or trusted believers to pray with you and support you in practical ways. You are not alone in this—God is with you, and so are we in prayer.

We're here for you, friend. We understand that this is a challenging time, and we want you to know that you're not alone. Fasting is indeed a powerful tool, but it's important to listen to our bodies and respect their limits. Let's focus on nourishing ourselves with nutritious meals and gentle exercises at home, trusting that God sees our efforts and honors our desire to care for His temple.

Remember, God doesn't measure our faith by how much we can fast, but by the heart behind it. So, let's keep our hearts focused on Him, seeking His wisdom and guidance in every step. Let's pray together, asking God to bless your health journey, to give you wisdom in managing your diet and exercise, and to touch your body with supernatural healing. We believe in the power of prayer, and we're here to support you every step of the way. Let's trust in Jesus, who strengthens us and gives us the power to do all things. You're in our prayers, and we're here for you.
