We join together in agreement with you, lifting your heartfelt cry before the Lord, for it is written, *"Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you"* (James 4:7). Your plea for deliverance is heard, and we stand with you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we are saved and through whom we have authority over every dark power. It is only through faith in Him that we can boldly approach the throne of grace, and it is by His blood that we are cleansed and set free.
The enemy seeks to bind God’s children with chains of the past—whether through ungodly soul ties, lingering regrets, or the influence of demonic forces that cling like briers. But the Word of God declares, *"He has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of His love"* (Colossians 1:13). You are no longer a captive, for Christ has already triumphed over every principality and power. The music, attachments, or spirits that have sought to oppress you must now flee, for *"greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4).
Yet we must also address the matter of your heart’s focus. You have asked not to chase after or think of anyone from your past, and we urge you to examine this carefully in the light of Scripture. If these thoughts are tied to former relationships—especially those that were outside of God’s design for marriage—then it is wise to sever those ties completely. The Lord calls us to purity, and any emotional or spiritual bond with someone who is not your spouse (or a potential godly spouse in courtship) can become a stronghold for the enemy. *"Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body"* (1 Corinthians 6:18). If there was fornication or ungodly attachment in your past, repent and renounce it now, for *"if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You that You have given us authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). Right now, we bind every demonic spirit, every ungodly attachment, and every influence of darkness that has sought to oppress Your child. We break every curse, every soul tie, and every stronghold that has been formed through past sins, ungodly relationships, or exposure to demonic music or influences. By the blood of Jesus, we command these spirits to leave and never return, for they have no place in the life of one who is redeemed by Christ.
Lord, we ask that You would cleanse this heart and mind from every lingering thought of the past. If there are memories or emotions tied to relationships that were not pleasing to You, we ask for Your healing and deliverance. Fill the void with Your peace and the assurance of Your love. Help Your child to fix their eyes on You alone, seeking first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness (Matthew 6:33). If there is any unconfessed sin, bring it to light now so that repentance may be made and forgiveness received.
Father, we also pray for a hedge of protection around this life. Let no weapon formed against them prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in victory and discernment, rejecting anything that does not align with Your Word. Give them a hunger for Your presence and a love for Your truth, that they may stand firm in the faith, unshaken by the schemes of the enemy.
We declare freedom, healing, and restoration in Jesus’ name. Let Your light shine into every dark corner, and let Your truth set them free indeed (John 8:32). We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
Beloved, stand firm in this truth: *"You are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4). Walk in the freedom Christ has purchased for you, and do not look back. If the enemy tries to bring up the past, remind him of the blood of Jesus and the authority you have in Christ. Surround yourself with godly fellowship, worship that honors the Lord, and the Word of God, which is a lamp to your feet (Psalm 119:105).
If you have not already, we encourage you to seek out a spirit-filled, Bible-believing church where you can be discipled and strengthened in your walk. The battle is real, but the victory is already won in Christ. Keep your eyes on Him, and He will lead you into all truth and liberty.
