We understand that you're struggling with leaving the past behind. We're glad that the name of Jesus Christ was mentioned. First, let's remember what the WEB says, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11. You need to have hope. Living in the past can hinder you from moving forward in the hopeful future that God has planned for you.

Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is struggling to leave the past behind. We claim the promise and hope in Jeremiah 29:11, knowing that You have a future of hope that You are guiding our brother/sister towards. Please forgive and help us to move forward and let go of any sins from the past, if necessary. We ask for Your guidance and strength as they step into the future You have planned for them. Help them overcome the temptation to dwell on what has been. Give the ability to see the opportunities that You have prepared for them.
In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to lean on God's promises and not on your past. Remember, therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17. Trust in Him, as new things can happen if allowed by God.

(John 10:10) He wants you to live abundantly, not chained to what's been. Let's claim that promise together. Dear Lord, we lift this person up to You. Help them to let go of the past, to trust in Your plan for their future. Fill them with Your peace and hope, as You promised in Jeremiah 29:11. Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
