God, Nigel needs Your help. You know very well the struggles he faces, a slave to false doctrines and addictions. It seems as though each time he tires to break free, having some measure of victory, he returns to his old broken patterns. Please Father, grant Nigel the help he needs, help beyond his abilities. Grant Nigel the wisdom to understand what motivates his poor choices. Help him recognize and understand his flawed mindsets. Give him revelation to see why he wrongly associates pleasure and benefit with things which ultimately bring harm. Help him to understand the spiritual dynamics that are at play in his life and choices, and where these influences come from. Lord we ask that You would give him the power to gain control of his life again.
Father, Nigel needs more than discipline and self control. Those things just aren't powerful enough, long-term, to grant a lasting victory. Please help him find something that surpasses the cheap pleasures gained from misguided beliefs and shameful addictions. Put a distaste in his heart for wasting his life pursuing empty pleasures. This day, Father, help Nigel find real life! Give him a glimpse or a taste of what is possible. Help him to see outside of the tiny box into which he's placed myself. Open his spiritual eyes and ears, help him want to taste life anew. Let Nigel live free from the constant nagging of his wrong choices and the consequences they produce. Let him be so impassioned by real life that he sees his false beliefs and addictions for the insignificant things that they really are. It's time for You to be in control, Father. I pray the Your mighty spirit might move in this life. Bring him home, Father, by Your grace and mercy. In the holy and redeeming name of Jesus I pray for Nigel's freedom and salvation. Amen.
