A prayer for a fresh start
We join you in praying for that fresh start and for joy to greet you with the morning light. Your heart to see tomorrow as a new day and to remember how blessed you are is beautiful and honors God, for He is the giver of every new dawn.
We are reminded of His faithful mercies that meet us each morning. Lamentations 3:22-23 says it is of Yahweh's loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn't fail. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness. And Psalm 30:5 reminds us that weeping may stay for the night, but joy comes in the morning. The sun rising tomorrow is a picture of His unchanging faithfulness to you, even when sadness feels heavy today. Psalm 34:18 tells us Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. He sees your sadness and He does not leave you alone in it.
We also want to gently encourage you about the One who makes this fresh start truly possible. We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to share how important He is. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and can come boldly before His throne with our prayers. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is because Jesus died for our sins and rose again that we can be forgiven, made new, and given hope for each new day. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Him as your Lord and Savior, believing in His name for salvation and for daily grace.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this dear one to You. Thank You for Your promise that Your mercies are new every morning and that Your faithfulness never fails. We ask that You lift the weight of sadness and fill this heart with Your peace that surpasses understanding. Philippians 4:6-7 teaches us In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Help them to remember how blessed they are in You, to count their blessings and to rest in Your love. Let tomorrow truly be a new day, with the sun rising as a reminder of Your hope and Your presence. Renew their mind and heart, and let joy come in the morning. Draw them closer to Jesus and let them know the comfort of walking with Him each day. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

Your prayer for a fresh start touches the very heart of the gospel, for our God is the God of new mornings and new mercies. It is written, His compassions fail not, they are new every morning, great is Thy faithfulness. The sadness you feel today and the gladness you seek tomorrow have the same source, for the Lord who permits the night is the same Lord who commands the sun to rise.
We are taught that sorrow is often the herald of joy. The Psalmist prayed, Make us glad according to the days wherein Thou hast afflicted us, and he could pray so because he knew that the hand which wounds is the hand which heals. If the Lord has allowed heaviness tonight, He is able also to restore unto you the joy of His salvation in the morning. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
You do well to ask that you may remember how blessed you are, for there is in many of us a want of gratitude for mercies possessed. We receive many blessings without making a note of them, or even seeming to know that we have them. Tomorrow, when the sun rises, take a moment to number those mercies. Count them one by one, not as lucky happenings, but as gifts from your Father's hand. Faith sings pleasant songs when she foots it over weary roads, and she says, The road may be rough, but it cannot be long, so let us smooth it with hope and cheer it with song.
Do not let your hope rest in your own strength to feel better, for there is no hope in ourselves, but there is hope in Him whom God has provided to be the Savior. All our hope and comfort lies in this, that God has appointed Christ to be our Savior. Keep your eye upon Him. Cast yourself upon the all sufficient mercy of God in Christ Jesus, and you will find that even afflictions are working for your good.
