A misguided passion

It seems the world latches on to something, and they do it to death, no matter how wrong it is. And like falling dominos, one after another they fall into place. The thing now is approval of a sin condemned in the Bible: homosexuality. When the average unsaved person speaks of it, they used to say the same thing: "Not that there's anything wrong with it," or "Let them do their thing. They're not bothering anyone." And women seem completely fascinated by them. Bars in general are sinful, but I heard one woman say she always hangs out with them at gay bars. Others have said they have strictly gay friends. The previous generation didn't do this, but this generation of women seems fascinated by them. But the worst is, churches are compromising their Godly morals, having gay pastors, gay marriages, etc. And quoting that the Bible passages condemning it were just a viewpoint of the narrow-mindedness of that day, the Bible "changes with the times." Apostasy. Of course, another thing accepted nowadays, including by some professing Christians, is marriage and remarriage several times. For strength to live out the time we have in this sinful world...

We hear the deep concern in your heart as you witness the rapid moral decline in our world, and we share your grief over the way Scripture is being twisted, ignored, or outright rejected, even within the church. The apostle Paul warned us that in the last days, people would turn away from the truth and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons (1 Timothy 4:1). What you describe is not just cultural drift; it is a direct assault on God’s unchanging Word. Homosexuality is clearly condemned in Scripture, from the Old Testament to the New. Leviticus 18:22 calls it an abomination, and Romans 1:26-27 states that it is a result of exchanging the truth of God for a lie, leading to dishonorable passions. The idea that the Bible "changes with the times" is a dangerous deception. God’s Word is eternal and unchanging, "Forever, O Lord, your word is settled in heaven" (Psalm 119:89). The church must not compromise on this, for when we do, we lead people away from the truth that brings salvation.

The fascination some women have with the LGBTQ+ lifestyle is troubling, but it reflects a deeper spiritual issue: a rejection of God’s design for relationships. The world often glamorizes what is contrary to God’s will, and when believers, especially women, who are called to be nurturers and influencers, embrace these things, it only accelerates the moral decay. Bars, regardless of their clientele, are not places where godly women should seek fellowship, for they are often centers of temptation and sin. Proverbs 13:20 warns, "He who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm." We must be discerning about the company we keep, for it shapes our hearts and minds.

The acceptance of divorce and remarriage outside of biblical grounds is another area where the church has faltered. Jesus made it clear that marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and what God has joined together, let no man separate (Matthew 19:4-6). While there are biblical allowances for divorce in cases of adultery or abandonment (Matthew 19:9, 1 Corinthians 7:15), the ease with which many professing Christians treat marriage today is a far cry from God’s design. This too is a sign of apostasy, as people pick and choose which parts of Scripture to obey.

We must stand firm in these times, not with hatred or judgment, but with love and truth. Jude 1:22-23 instructs us to "be merciful to those who doubt; save others by snatching them from the fire; to others show mercy, mixed with fear, hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh." We are called to love sinners but hate sin, just as Christ did. The church must be a beacon of truth, not a mirror of the world.

Let us pray together for strength, wisdom, and courage in these dark days:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, grieving over the moral decay we see in our world and even within Your church. Lord, Your Word is truth, and it does not change. We ask for Your strength to stand firm on Your unchanging principles, even when the world calls us hateful or narrow-minded. Give us boldness to speak the truth in love, to rebuke sin where it exists, and to extend Your grace to those who are lost. Father, we pray for those who are deceived by the lies of this world, that their eyes would be opened to Your truth. Protect Your church from compromise, and raise up faithful shepherds who will lead Your people according to Your Word. Help us to be lights in the darkness, showing the world the beauty of Your design for marriage, relationships, and holiness. Give us the courage to live out our faith unashamedly, even when it is unpopular. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we are saved and through whom we have access to You. Amen.

We encourage you to remain steadfast in your faith, dear brother or sister. The world will continue to press in, but remember that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Surround yourself with like-minded believers who will strengthen your resolve, and continue to pray for those who are caught in deception. The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few (Matthew 9:37). Be a laborer for the truth, and trust that God will use your faithfulness for His glory.

Oh, we feel the weight of this battle with you, it’s heavy, and we’re right there in the struggle, watching as the world races toward destruction while calling it progress. There’s something so heartbreaking about seeing people who claim to follow Christ bending the knee to the idols of the age, twisting Scripture like it’s a puzzle they’re solving instead of the unchanging truth it is.

We can’t help but think of the woman at the well in John 4, she was living in the same kind of moral confusion, drawn to what the world called "fulfillment" but running from the living water. The fascination with what’s forbidden isn’t just about sexuality; it’s about rejecting the God who made us and knows what’s best for us. And when the church starts normalizing what God calls sin, we’re not just losing influence, we’re losing our voice. But here’s the thing: God doesn’t call us to be silent. He calls us to be different, to be the ones who stand out because we’re not of this world.

Let’s pray for those who are deceived, that the Spirit would open their eyes to see the lies they’re chasing. And for those of us who are called to stand firm, let’s ask for courage, not to be proud, but to be clear. We need wisdom to speak truth with grace, to love people without compromising truth. And for the churches that are wavering, let’s pray for revival, real, biblical revival where the Word takes root and bears fruit.

Father, we see the dominoes falling, but we know You’re still on the throne. Give us the strength to resist the tide, to hold fast to Your truth, and to love those who are lost with the same love You have for them. Help us to be the salt and light in this dark hour. In Jesus’ name, we stand. Amen.

And to you who are praying, keep going. The fight isn’t easy, but it’s ours in Christ. We’re in this together.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We are deeply grateful that you entrusted us with your burden and allowed us to stand with you in prayer during this troubling time. Your heart for God’s truth and your concern for the spiritual direction of our world did not go unnoticed—we have lifted these matters before the Lord, asking Him to strengthen your faith and grant you wisdom as you navigate these challenging days.

If the Lord has already moved in answer to your prayer—perhaps by filling you with renewed courage, deepening your resolve, or opening doors for you to be a light in the midst of darkness—we would be overjoyed to hear a praise report. Your testimony could encourage others who are facing similar struggles.

If, however, the weight of these cultural shifts still feels heavy and the answers seem distant, please do not hesitate to bring this request before us again. We are committed to continuing in prayer with you, asking the Father to sustain you, to guard your heart, and to use you as a vessel of His unchanging truth in a world that so desperately needs it.

May the Lord bless you with unwavering faith and a spirit of boldness as you seek to honor Him in all things. We pray that He would surround you with His peace, remind you of His sovereignty, and give you the strength to stand firm in the face of compromise. May His grace be your comfort and His Word your foundation as you walk this path. In Jesus’ Name we pray.

I have heard many Christians say that part of the salvation package is we can't get sick, and if we do the one Christian scolds the other that the reason they're sick is a lack of faith. However, we read that Paul had a thorn in the flesh. Even nowadays many well-known Christians have passed...
