A Lifelong Affliction Suddenly Has Altered And Exacerbated

Dear Friends at prayerrequest.com,
My beloved mother has been afflicted with continual asthma for almost fifty-two years. Despite this, thanks to a variety of different inhalers and a nebulizer, she has been blessed with the ability to realize parental and domestic accomplishments, even painting reproductions of antique portraits, and later, more original artwork, for recreation!
Last spring, however, she began to decrease to an extremely low weight without dieting, and regularly experiences stridor (a collapse of the vocal cords). As long as she is seated, especially in our recliner, her oxygen rate and pulse are within the normal range. However, even a short perambulation effectuates her wheezing, and decrease of the aforementioned vitals.
She has undergone an esophagram (because her physician espied a hiatal hernia on her X-Ray), and a pulmonary function test (for which she has yet to receive the results). She needs to have a cataract removed to qualify for removal of her driver’s license, but she is afraid to undergo this, as sedation is used, which might diminish her heart rate excessively, and if she receives a coughing paroxysm during the procedure, the laser or tools used therein could slip, and damage her vision!
She always has embodied an exemplary Christian, with a wonderful attitude about her respiratory illnesses: “I’m so thankful that it is not leukemia!”
If you would be so kind, please implore The Lord to provide her with a specialist who can diagnose and treat her, and that she will be capable of returning to a healthy avoirdupois.
Thank you so much for reading this text, and may The Lord bless; emancipate; inspire; and protect you and your families throughout this year, and past the ultimate extremities of eternity 🙏🤗❤️🌥🦋🎁🕊✝️!
With Love; Friendship; Peace; And Hope,

We lift up your beloved mother before the throne of grace, trusting in the Great Physician who knows every detail of her condition and holds her life in His hands. Father, we thank You for the strength and resilience You have given her over these fifty-two years of battling asthma. You have sustained her through every breath, and we ask now for Your divine intervention as her symptoms have worsened.

Lord, we pray for wisdom and skill for the doctors treating her. Raise up a specialist who will have the insight to diagnose and treat her with excellence, one who will see beyond the surface and uncover the root of her struggles. We declare that her pulmonary function test results will reveal clear answers, and that her esophagram will lead to effective solutions. Guide every medical professional’s hands, thoughts, and decisions as they care for her, that they may be instruments of Your healing.

We also bring her fears before You, Father. The anxiety over sedation and the risks of surgery are real, but we know that You are greater than any fear. Calm her heart with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and give her courage to face the procedures she needs. We pray that if cataract surgery is Your will for her, You would protect her through it—steadying her breathing, guarding her heart, and keeping the surgeon’s hands sure. Let no harm come to her, and let the outcome be for her good.

Father, we ask for restoration of her strength and weight. You are the One who knits us together in our mother’s womb and sustains us throughout our days. Rebuild what has been lost, strengthen her body, and renew her energy. Let her once again find joy in her art and daily activities, not as a distant memory, but as a present reality.

We are so encouraged by her faith-filled perspective, Lord. Her gratitude in the midst of suffering is a testament to Your work in her life. May her example continue to shine brightly, drawing others to You. Remind her daily that her worth is not defined by her health, but by Your love for her. When the road feels long, let her rest in the truth that You are with her, holding her close.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who bore our infirmities and carried our diseases. By His stripes, we believe healing is possible. Strengthen her faith, Lord, and let her see Your glory in this season. Amen.

We also want to gently encourage you, ###, to continue trusting in God’s sovereignty. Even when the path is unclear, He is working all things together for good for those who love Him. Your mother’s testimony of faith is powerful, and we believe God will use her story to bring Himself glory. Keep seeking Him, keep praying, and keep believing in His promises. He is faithful.

We're standing with you and your mother in faith, believing for her complete healing and restoration. We've been moved by her unwavering trust in the Lord, even in the face of her worsening condition. Let's continue to intercede for her, claiming God's promise in Psalm 103:3, "Who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases."

We declare that God is her Healer, and He is working even now to reveal the root cause of her struggles. We ask that You, Lord, would guide the doctors and specialists who will care for her, giving them wisdom and insight to accurately diagnose and treat her. We believe that the pulmonary function test results and the esophagram will lead to clear answers and effective solutions.

We also lift her fears to You, Father. We ask that You would fill her with Your perfect peace, calming her heart and giving her courage to face the procedures she needs. We trust that You are in control, and that You will protect her and guide the surgeon's hands if cataract surgery is Your will for her.

We're believing for her strength and weight to be restored, Lord. We ask that You would rebuild what has been lost, strengthen her body, and renew her energy. We envision her once again finding joy in her art and daily activities, not just as a distant memory, but as a present reality.

We're so encouraged by her faith-filled perspective, Lord. We ask that You would continue to strengthen her faith and remind her daily of her worth in You. When the road feels long, let her rest in the truth that You are with her, holding her close.

We pray all these things in Jesus' mighty name, believing for her healing and restoration. Amen.
