A heart to heal

Beloved of All
Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you for this day that you have made. We ask for bread - a word that can carry us through the day. Strength and joy to be renewed in Jesus' name. God you say through prayer and supplication to make our prayers be make known. You say to ask and knock the doors be open for us. You say go to the elders to lay hand on you if one is sick. But in all you are a Sovereign God that we need to recognise. There are things we just don't understand and we can't lean on our own understanding. I surrender all the things that I don't understand unto you. Come Holy Spirit may you fill my mouth with comforting words to build up my husband. God may you fill this home with your love, joy and comfort. I surrender my husband crushed spirit, heart that needs your help to mend. Please take over this burden and speak to his heart while he his sleeping. His heart is heavy, burdened, hurts that are not dealt with and the continous pain his situation at work. He is asking for your help to defend him in Jesus' name. Your child is pleading your help to direct people to his favor to help answer questions at work which till this day he is still lending help from his manager. He is discouraged he worked hard...but he just couldn't get any answers to get things done for customers when others could. He is afraid to raise for any help and be hurt with no answers. I ask for your divine authority and respect from people he is in contact with at work to grant him the favor of answers directly from them and not be ignored in Jesus' name. His future is in your hands...I pray that Lord you come and direct our path. A switch of role within his company if you see is best for him. He has a project that you heard that he wants to see it happen together with me. I ask for your wisdom and a path of directions to walk us through it if that is your will in Jesus' name. Protect our minds and heart and keep us together in Jesus' name, Amen!

We join you in thanking our Heavenly Father for this day and for your faithful heart that seeks Him on behalf of your husband and your marriage. We hear your surrender and your desire to lean not on your own understanding, and we stand with you in asking for daily bread, for a word from the Lord to carry you through, and for strength and joy to be renewed.

Your prayer aligns so beautifully with Scripture. You have remembered that we are to make our requests known to God by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving as taught in Philippians 4:6-7, and that we are to ask and knock trusting that the door will be opened as Jesus promised in Matthew 7:7. You are right to acknowledge that He is Sovereign and that we are to trust in Yahweh with all our heart and not lean on our own understanding, and that He will direct our paths as in Proverbs 3:5-6. You also rightly recall James 5:14 about calling the elders to pray and lay hands on the sick, and we believe God honors a wife who intercedes for her husband and asks the Holy Spirit to fill her mouth with words that build up, for Ephesians 4:29 calls us to let no corrupt speech proceed out of our mouth, but only what is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear.

We are encouraged by your commitment to your marriage. God established marriage as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman, and a wife who covers her husband in prayer and seeks to build up her home with love, joy and comfort is fulfilling a holy calling. The Lord sees his heavy, burdened and crushed spirit, and we take comfort that Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit as in Psalm 34:18, and that Jesus invites us to come to Him all who labor and are heavily burdened and He will give rest as in Matthew 11:28.

We pray together now for you both.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace and we lift up this husband to You. You know the hurts he has not yet been able to deal with, the heaviness in his heart, and the continuous pain and discouragement he carries from his work. We ask You to take this burden from him, for You have told us to cast our burden on Yahweh and He will sustain us in Psalm 55:22. Speak to his heart even while he is sleeping, mend what is broken, and renew his strength and joy. Let Your peace which surpasses all understanding guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus according to Philippians 4:7.

Lord, You see how hard he has worked and how he has sought answers to serve his customers well, yet has been met with silence and being ignored while others receive help. We ask for Your divine favor upon him. As Proverbs 3:4 teaches, let him find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man. Grant him respect and open doors with those he contacts at work, that they would answer him directly and not ignore him. Direct people to show him favor and give him the answers he needs to do his work well, so he will no longer be afraid to ask for help. We ask that You defend him, for when a man's ways please Yahweh, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him in Proverbs 16:7.

Father, his future and the future of this marriage is in Your hands. We surrender his path to You and ask that You establish his steps as in Psalm 37:23 and that You instruct him and teach him in the way he should go as in Psalm 32:8. If a switch of role within his company is best for him according to Your will, we ask You to open that door and make it clear. We lift up the project You have placed on both of their hearts to do together, and we ask for wisdom, for You give wisdom generously to all who ask in James 1:5. Show them the path and the directions to walk through it if it is Your will. Fill this wife's mouth with comforting, gracious words like pleasant honey that bring healing as in Proverbs 16:24, that she may build up her husband in love. Protect their minds and hearts and keep them together, knit together in Your love, that nothing would divide what You have joined.

We thank You that we can come boldly to You only through Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved and have access to the Father as in Acts 4:12 and John 14:6. We trust Your sovereign hand even in what we do not understand, and we wait for You to direct our path. We ask all of this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to stand in the gap for your husband, to speak life over him daily, and to rest in the Lord's sovereignty. Keep bringing every detail to the Lord in prayer, keep seeking wise counsel from godly elders in your church, and keep encouraging him with the Word. The Lord will be faithful to guide you both step by step and to keep your home filled with His love, joy and comfort as you abide in Him.

Thank you for sharing this so honestly. We hear how tenderly you are carrying your husband and how much you want your words and your home to be a place of rest for him. Surrendering what you cannot understand or fix is itself an act of love, and God sees the way you are lifting him up while he sleeps and while he works.

It makes sense his spirit feels crushed when he is working hard, wants to serve customers well, and yet feels ignored or unable to get clear answers. That kind of discouragement can wear on anyone, making it harder to ask for help for fear of being dismissed again. Your desire to speak comfort and to ask God to surround him with favor and respect is a beautiful covering for him in this strain.

One thing that often helps in a season like this is keeping support simple and steady. You might ask him gently what kind of encouragement actually builds him up most right now, whether it is a brief word in the morning, a quiet prayer together at night, or just knowing you are with him without needing to fix it. For the work burden, it can help to sort one specific question at a time to bring to his manager or colleagues in writing, so he is not carrying every unanswered need at once.

We are praying with you.

Father, we lift this husband to You, his heavy heart and the burdens he carries from work. Fill his home with Your peace, guard his mind and heart as he sleeps, and give both of them wisdom for each next step with his role and the project they hope to do together. Keep them close to each other and to You. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer has been brought before the Lord and we join you in bringing it to the throne of grace. We have heard the heaviness that rests upon your husband and upon your home, and we take comfort that you have not leaned upon your own understanding but have surrendered all that you do not understand unto a Sovereign God.

There is healing for the wounded heart, for it is written, He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds. The leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. His fruit is sweet and nourishing, and even His leaves, His gentlest touches, have virtue to change the lifeblood and make the nature new. When the spirit is crushed and burdened, when hurts not yet dealt with lie heavy and the vexations of daily work press sore, Christ is the heavenly Physician who bears with Him power to heal. Calvary is the place for the healing balm, and He who said, Son, be of good cheer, thy sins are forgiven thee, joins pardon and healing together.

You have asked rightly that the Holy Spirit would fill your mouth with comforting words to build up your husband. This building up through the Spirit is the seal of His favor. Where the Spirit abides, there is the mark that a soul is accepted of God and consecrated as His temple. Pray that the Spirit who rested without measure upon our Lord would rest upon your husband and upon your home, not merely striving at intervals but abiding, to be your evidence that God has begun a good work and will carry it on. Ask that He would speak to your husband even while he sleeps, and unburden the mind that feels it cannot find answers.

We join you in asking for bread for this day, for a word that can carry you through. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God, and healing power is present when Christ is teaching. Let the one verse be nourishing to you this day, The eternal God is thy refuge and underneath are the everlasting arms. Though you feel a heaviness of spirit and know not what you need, He knows. Though the fountains of the great deep seem broken up within, and sin and sorrow threaten as a deluge, underneath still are those everlasting arms. Go to God, plead the work of Christ and the Covenant of Grace, and find that He is not a consuming fire to your spirit but to your sins.

We pray now for your husband in his place of work. That discouragement which comes from laboring hard and being ignored, from needing answers for customers and finding no favor, the Lord sees. We ask that God, who delights to show favor to the objects of His choice, would grant your husband wisdom and direct his path, that He would move the hearts of those he must work with to give kind and timely answers, and that He would give him a spirit of boldness tempered with grace to ask for help without fear of being hurt. If it be the Lord's will, we ask that He would open a door for a switch of role within the company, or otherwise make plain the way he should walk. For the project you desire to see happen together, we ask for clear direction, that it may be done in a right spirit and with a pure motive, for the glory of God.

We also pray that the Lord who was a Husband unto His people, who set His special love upon them, remained faithful to them, communed with them lovingly and provided for them, would keep and guard your marriage. May He protect your minds and hearts in Christ Jesus and keep you together, that your home may be filled with His love and joy and comfort.

May the God of all grace lift this burden, heal the crushed spirit, and give you both strength and joy renewed in Jesus name. We commit your future into His hands, trusting that He who is your refuge will not fail you. Amen.
