Thank you for sharing your honest prayer request. I have prayed for you in the name of Jesus, asking our heavenly Father to touch your heart, quiet your anxiety, forgive your sins, and make His presence real to you.
God is deeply interested in your heart. More than outward actions, He looks at the attitude and direction of the heart within. Scripture says to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength, and to keep His words in your heart first of all. When your heart is fully turned toward Him, He longs to bless you in ways you may not yet have imagined. He also sees when a heart truly wants to follow Him, even when we fail, and He is merciful to forgive. Like David, who sinned greatly yet had a heart that was toward God, we can come to God and pray, create in me a clean heart, O God. Jesus said, blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God. That purity is not something we create ourselves. It is a work God does in us when we confess our sins and trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. The wages of sin is death, but Jesus has borne that penalty so that forgiveness can be freely given to all who believe in Him. If you have put your trust in Him, be assured that He has forgiven you and He counts what is in your heart toward Him.
You also asked to feel His presence. The truth of Scripture is that you never leave His presence. You cannot flee from it. If you ascend to heaven He is there, if you go to the depths He is there. He is not confined to one building or one place. He is with you in your home, on the road, in quiet moments and in anxious moments. What we often lack is not His presence, but a living awareness of it. Ask Him to awaken in you a continual consciousness that you live and move in Him. That awareness is vital for peace and for holy living, because when we remember He is right there with us, we walk differently and we find comfort.
For your anxiety, Scripture gives a simple and powerful direction. When anxious thoughts rise and everything feels impossible, bring God back into the equation. Put your hope in God. When He is factored back into the situation, what felt overwhelming becomes seen in a new light and you can find His solution and His peace.
For your physical heart, God does care about your body. He designed it and He calls us to steward it wisely. It is not right to fill the body with whatever harms it and then simply ask God to keep it strong. He teaches us to be thoughtful about what we take in and how we care for ourselves, while also trusting Him as our healer and sustainer. So I pray that if it is His will, He will strengthen your heart and give you health, and that He will give you wisdom to care for your body in a way that honors Him. Above all, I pray that He will give you a merry heart in Him, which brings strength to the whole person.
May the Lord work in you both to will and to do what pleases Him, planting His desires in your heart and giving you the power to walk in them. May you know His forgiveness fully, rest in His nearness constantly, and experience His peace guarding your heart and mind through Christ Jesus.
